Is Obliterate 2H Frost still viable in season 2 even with the tier set bonus from Abberus?

Just curious, because I am not a fan of BoS spec or trying to weave in Frostwyrm. I just want to be icey death that hits things real hard.

Everything is viable, so you’ll have to be more specific.

  • If you’re asking if it’s better than BoS, then it isn’t for the raid and is for M+ & PvP.

  • If you’re asking if you can get a raid spot as Obliteration over BoS, that’s irrelevant this late in the tier but you can, but not playing Unholy in raid is generally wasted potential.

  • If you’re asking if playing Obliteration will get you a spot in M+, that’s also a no since it’s heavily outclassed by about 4-6 other melee in M+.

  • If you’re just asking if it’s good overall, that’s a big “it depends” and we need more information.

Short answer, yes it’s viable for everything. But not always BiS.

That moment when you dont know what you’re talking about. You wont get invited to M+ mainly cause you aren’t 1 of the 3 dps crowding the top slots (ie: SPriest, Augmentation and Mage) if you got friends you can get in and Obliterate single target still does great AoE, BoS is garbage compared to Obliterate in Raid.

Everything I said is correct, factual, and easily verifiable by logs.

Tell me you know literally nothing about the spec without directly saying you know nothing.

 take two seconds to look at WCL before spreading misinformation…

To be fair 2h has quite a few fights that its clearly better than breath on. Sark, Echo, Assault.
Rashok and Magmorax are breaths best fights, and 2h easily is just as competetive in every other fight. To say breath is wildly better than 2h in raid right now or this entire season isn’t necessarily a fair statement.

They are both fairly close and you can pretty much play either. Most people just play unholy as it performs better and has a much better and easier damage profile.

To say BOS in raid is garbage is factually wrong.

Literal meme fight and shouldn’t be counted towards anything.

Literally no one here said that Breath was wildly better. The amount of people on these forums reading what they want to read instead of what’s actually written is staggering.

Okay sorry you didn’t say the word “wildly”. You did say that breath is the better raid spec though. I still think its a pretty close toss up and calling either the better raid spec is just subjective to encounter mechanics. One adverb and the world crumbles down.
