The Eternal Palace stats are pretty pathetic. Has Blizzard made mythic raiding so difficult to the point where it’s off putting to players?
I think it has more to do with people just being tired of this expansion.
It’s a multi-faceted problem if people are raiding less (if that is the case). As for fights being overly complicated… I mean that’s just an arms race between the dev’s and the add ons. On one hand I love how functional WA2 is, but on the other hand… I’m starting to see points where I’m not sure how a raid would even handle a mechanic without some form of WA to figure it out or provide exactly the timing of a mechanic hitting.
Yes!
Dungeons are seriously overtuned!
Oh boy, here we go.
Depends on the raid, but I’d say generally yes.
Mythic Azshara is a good example, that’s a bit much.
I don’t think anyone here other than Synsha is qualified to comment on this.
Imo, raids are actually too easy, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t that great. LFR is easy af, Normal is arguably easier, Heroic should be more difficult imo, and I can’t comment on Mythic.
I’d personally make Normal and Heroic more difficult, based on what I do have experience with. I like a good challenge.
EDIT: That is to say, I can’t comment on how difficult Mythic is or isn’t. Only Normal and Heroic.
The first three are about as hard (the second and third being slightly easier) as Heroic Azshara. Past that… pre-nerf… exponentially harder.
Nah I think it’s just right. The ashvane wall maybe slightly overtuned for the longest time for the regular players. But I think the balance is just right for the rest. I’m glad M azshara is a hard fight. It’ll feel much rewarding when me and my team finally kill her
The numbers are in another thread, but TLDR: More people do Mythic raiding now than before, so no it does not seem to be putting off players.
We still have a ways to go for EP, probably too early to call it pathetic.
I’d argue that Mythic Raids being exclusively 20-man impacts their popularity far more than the difficulty – and with how popular M+ has been, on top of how popular the Tower might be in Shadowlands, even introducing 10-man Mythic probably wouldn’t meaningfully improve how appealing it is to players.
People just gravitate towards smaller groups, it’s human nature.
A lot of guilds are dying to the 20 player requirement from what I have personally seen back when I wanted to try mythic raiding. They spend hours recruiting, cant get 20 competent players so they fill with normal/heroic raiders who somehow think they can raid despite only being able to pull a 30 % parse at best and dying to regular mechanics every pull at worst. This then causes progress to slow to a halt and all the actual raiders trickle off and it creates a revolving door of recruitment where as soon as you grab a good one, a good player got frustrated and left.
C/P from other thread:
150 NA guilds are 8/8M for EP
62 guilds were 2/2M for Crucible.
677 guilds were 9/9M for BoD.
599 guilds were 8/8M for Uldir.
653 guilds were 11/11M for Tier 21.
278 guilds were 9/9M for Tier 20.
516 guilds were 7/7 3/3 10/10M for Tier 19.
818 guilds were 13/13M for Tier 18.
319 guilds were 7/7 10/10M for Tier 17.
Knocking out outliers (end of expansion/crap raids/EP not being done)… more guilds now are M level.
This 100%. Our guild downs heroic pretty damn fast and without much issue.
But getting 20 people on at the same time consistently is a harder boss than any of the actual bosses.
I don’t think I’d be able to handle mythic raiding. My logs aren’t spectacular, my computer isn’t the best, and despite months of trying I still can’t seem to figure out how to make WA work to my liking. So I’m basically just one less player in that pool. Unless something changes about mythic raiding (not saying it should, I know it’s only meant for the best of the best) I strongly doubt it will ever have me as a participant.
2002 guilds killed M Guldan. 1867 guilds killed M Jaina. These are down from 5000 guilds killing Mythic/Heroic Garrosh in MoP. It’s pretty much been a steady decline, at least at the mythic level.
I am not a mythic raider. I have lol 1 kill, so am messing with it. The jump from heroic to mythic is substantial.
The arms race against DBM/WeakAuras/guides is silly. Think about it from an in-character perspective. You’re supposed to look into the future to find out everything the boss does, in advance of fighting him, and program a Heads Up Display into your Iron Man suit for the various things he does? I’m not a bronze dragon in power armor, that option wasn’t given to me at character creation. And if I DO happen to be a bronze dragon in power armor, why is that now the new normal?
I personally think boss fights have gotten out of hand with how convoluted some of the mechanics are. I’d love to go back to a world where such addons aren’t necessary.
I want to fight the boss, not play DDR with it.
Not going by Worldwide, going by NA only. Guess I should have specified in this thread as I did in the other.
