Hi, I’m running an older system
Dell Precision T7400
Intel Xeon X5460 4 cores 4 threads x 2 @ 3.1Ghz
32 Gb of ECC DDR2
EVGA GTX 950 SSC
main boot drive is a 500gb Western digital blue SSD
I get the game to run but its not smooth. Is there something I should change in my hard ware or something in the software that will make it look and run better.
I really cant afford to buy a new pc.
Yes I know this is really old server hardware.
Put Texture Resolution, Texture Filtering, Projected Textures, and Environment Details all on max settings and everything else on the lowest settings. The game would look great while still maintaining that vanilla WoW style, and should run well for you.

My old computer is slowly wearing out. And no money to buy one
I shall try these settings, thank you for your response.

GPU is fine for Classic.
That CPU is 12 years old, it’s a wee bit outdated mate.
Add a line item in your budget that will allow you to afford a new one in a few months?
I can not do much about the cpu, as I am disabled and can not afford a new pc at this time.
I’m sorry to hear that but that is 100% your issue. You’ll need a new PC to get a meaningful performance boost.
$500-600 is what you’ll need to spend, little bit less if you use your current GTX 950.
He’s right.
Also don’t forget cyber Monday is coming up so you could snag some great deals!
Also make a wishlist of parts and piece your pc together(the only way to do it imo)
You already have a case. Buy a new budget mobo and cpu and work from there.
Don’t chince out on the power supply though.
lol
i run it on a laptop with an old i3, onboard graphics, 4gb ram and its all fine
just lower your configurations ingame and enjoy it!

That CPU is your problem, as wow is heavy on one thread. If you really want an upgrade get an old Dell optiplex 790/990/7010/9010 with an i5 or i7 with at least 4gb of ram. Move the 950 over, I don’t think those require external power, and you should be gtg. If you live in a large metro center tech recycle places usually have piles of these in the $100 range. Just make sure it’s the mini tower version and NOT small form factor.
Thank you everyone, I really appreciate the support you have offered.
