I’ve always had a problem with them every time I had to upgrade stuff. When they replaced my 8gb of ram for 16gb in my old pc, my pc gave me a windows issue. I had to call microsoft to have them fix the problem. Then the next time, I had the store clone a 125gb SSD to a 500gb SSD and they completely messed it up and didn’t even know how to fix the problem. Do you guys usually face any problems when it comes to upgrading your ram/vid card/processor or cloning drives? I’m wondering if it’s just the store that has a bunch of noob technicians.
Short answer: Yes.
Generally speaking, people in stores like this have no training and almost invariably have no certifications. There are paid tests you should be taking before you are employed in places like this, but most of these places don’t follow up on it.
You can literally get free software and clone your own drives at home.
This one may have been a problem with the ram itself, and not necessarily the installers.
The cloning though, THAT is a personnel problem.
Why not just order online off of Amazon or Newegg and follow the guides online?
What were the problems you were experiencing?
My aunt brought her laptop that totally messed up Windows and wouldn’t boot to the geek squad at bestbuy and they charged her $80 to look at it and say they cant do anything and she will need a new windows program.
So I took a look at it and after a quick Google about how to reset her laptop I got it back in recovery and reinstalling Windows. No new windows needed.
Oh forgot to add that there’s free programs that will clone the drives you want and work great.
