Its one of the many realms connected to Trollbane and I’ve been trying to find a nice realm to move to and get out of Uldaman (connected to Ravencrest).
I want to go to a high populated realm there I can meet more people (and do more stuff), have a better chance of selling BoE’s on the AH, do proper T-Mog and Achievement runs of old content Without relying too much on a Discord group.
Or should i just wait for the day Ravencrest and Uldaman get connected to more realms?
Just go to a high or full pop realm from the get go, no need to wait for anything.
I don’t know about Moonrunner. Going off my own server (which is high pop now) high is pretty good and lively. But full servers are just another beast entirely.
These are the realms connected to Trollbane: Ghostlands, Kael’thas, Grizzly Hills, Gnomeregan, Moonrunner, Lothar, Malfurion and together they do make a highly Populated realm of about 5500 (around 3000 Alliance/ 2400 Horde; according to WoWProgress). I have thought about Full populated realms but I’ll have to sort out my own concerns on the matter.
Only issues I have with Full servers are the wait time when ever new content comes out and something else that kinda petty I won’t mention. Lets just say if it were just this character that I was going to transfer I wouldn’t be so hesitant.
Moonrunner was a good server when I was on it. I left before they merged with Trollbane etc

Okay this is going to sound so obvious to everyone, but here me out. The plan is/was to transfer and/or recreate my existing characters on better servers and have all they’re earned gold add up so I can still use in-game currency to pay for my subscription (because no one can mail their gold across realms). Now the “petty concern” I mentioned is really me not wanting to give up some names on the other alts I have (no seriously I had a name I held onto for years because I love it so much (and no its not Squallken, lol)) and didn’t want to rename them and lose those names.
However I realized something… I don’t have to do that mass transfer… I can start anew on these realms and keep the alts I have until either those names become available or the realms connect and I can send this toon to Stormrage without worry.
Why didn’t I think of this before?

Get this. I have this set up where I have a bunch of alts at max level since MoP and they’re entire purpose was to run old content and current stuff to gain gold and later T-Mog. They’re divided into groups I called crafters, gatherers and collectors. Crafters were the ones with crafting professions, gatherers had only profession in gathering mats and collectors were just level 10-15 alts who each had a guild to store all sorts of items.
I made so much gold back in the day doing that and don’t get me started with the Garrisons in WoD and the Order Halls in Legion, I paid my sub with that gold for years and bought Overwatch with that gold on top of that.
From what I understand the best Alliance realms are Stormrage, KT and Proudmoore
I’m going with that one because it’s on EST.
I mean no offence by this in any way. I played solid on Moonrunner from Vanilla through MoP. Idk about now days on MR but back then there was reason we reffered to it as “Failrunner”
Things may have changed since then , Idk.
I am rather doubtful moonrunner would be for you.
I’ll be honest the reason I was thinking about Moonrunner is because it was the only realm connected to a high population of Alliance that where I claimed a name of an alt I didn’t want to part with that also had a good alliance presence. However the plan has now changed to one where I can account for nearly any possibility.
Yup I’m EST as well and Stormrage has been good to my Alliance toons
Only one complaint about the Full pop servers… why did they all have to take all the cool names… i.e. the names of characters from various shows and video games?
On the flipside, because i have a rare name on a full pop server i can’t transfer off and i’m stuck here
