It’s my first time playing the class and I am having fun with it, but it just seems like I’m leveling a lot slower then I was the last time I leveled a character.
Also how do I get back the dailies that gave me double rested xp? I did the Legion class hall thing and now I can’t go back there.
The biggest problem I have with the Monk class is that it just doesn’t feel impactful like the other melee classes do. Hard to describe I guess but it just doesn’t have weight to it so I get bored and can’t keep leveling it.
I feel this, but only for blackout kick and fists of fury. Neither of them sound very weighted. Tiger palm, rising sun kick, and whirling dragon punch all feel very “meaty”
Healing on them is fine until you hit 40. Those last few levels can be rough due to scaling if you don’t have a low level tank.
Tanking feels great until you get to like 30. You’re missing a ton of the kit that makes you sturdier and it requires more throughput from a healer. Again, higher level heal/tank leads to a harder time in the dungeon because scaling is so bonkers for levels 10-25.
Dps is pretty good, you can put up solid numbers from start to finish. Kit has good aoe in SCK and FoF that you get relatively early.
In SL leveling content I felt fine as all 3 specs and have played with all 3 specs just fine. Never unhappy to get a monk in my group.
In m+ heals feel pretty rough until you get used them while you gear up. Compared to Druid and Priest, monk was much more mana and CD intensive to me when gearing up. I didn’t tank on my monk in m+. Dps looks great, I’ve seen some monks pop off but I’ve never run damage in m+.
Windwalkers are one of the best specs for leveling I’ve found. Afterlife is great for self sustain and while Enlightenment isn’t the XP powerhouse it was in the past it’s still a nice Buff.
You need to skill Whirling Dragon Punch, it’s actually a devastating AoE-attack under the right circumstances. It should have been a standard skill but you really need to skill it. It can only be unlocked after using Fists of Fury and Rising Sun Kick. It’s more or less a finisher move.
