Is MM Hunter S3/S4 tier set bugged with Rapid Fire

I don’t know what’s happening, but whenever I try to hit Rapid Fire with Trick Shot up and tier set active, the channel stops almost immediately. It does not seem to happen if Volley is already up upon cast though.
