Is Leveling Boosting bannable?

I was looking for ways to make gold, rather than Grinding mats for enchanting like i was doing which is boring asf, and i saw someone advertising Level boosting, i whispered them and asked how much they charge, and they said 10k/level, I thought, what if i just boosted people for gold? Im geared to the brim and can solo finish any normal/heroic dungeon in less than 5 minutes, (DH) and timewalking is active, So, i started advertising level boosting for gold in the Trade(Services) chat, I got whispered by someone saying that level boosting is bannable. Is this true?

if you are doing it no its not
but if you are using a website for real money yes it is

Level boosting is not a rules violation, so long as you keep advertising to the Services channel (you did) and I believe you need to be in the run if you are advertising (also in the clear here), and of course it needs to be for gold (also good). Just don’t advertise in regular trade or the LFG, and you should be good.

My understanding is that charging gold for stuff will not get you banned. Charging real money will. Taking over someone’s account to level them will. But running another player (you on your character, them on theirs) through dungeons for gold is perfectly okay.

Gotcha, got me nervous, Im asking 5k/level instead of 10k, i already had my first boost and made 50k leveling someone from 70 to 80. Was nervous though about being banned. Thanks for the ensurence

np and gratz
just keep in mind some players will try and report you but if you follow the rules you will be golden
do it in service chat
you are doing the runs also
no RMT

I wish I had the patience for it otherwise that would be my go to route to make gold.

If it’s for gold, it’s not. If it’s for real money, it’s extremely bannable (usually for either six months, a year, 18 months, or perma).

How much gold per hour does that work out to?

I remember paying about 80k for a level boost to 70 during DF. I would think the prices have come down since then. I only did it because I needed to level a drakthyr which I despise playing.

Have at it big shooter

I did some of that during DF, its super boring but real consistent gold

Using a leveled character or XP enabled character to boost others while advertising in services and only charging gold is fine.

Boosting with an XP off lowbie and using any of the various ‘tricks’ (exploits) to get around the XP debuff applied when grouped with an XP off character would be at risk of a ban.

I can’t imagine spending gold for that but if people are willing to pay, why not?

While not against the rules, it’s completely unsupported. This means two things.

  1. If they neglect to pay you or pay you in full, Blizz will NOT get involved.
  2. If they pay you with ill-gotten gold, it could result in account actions on your account.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it.

People pay 10K a level? Jesus. Leveling is so simple you don’t really need to be conscious any more to do it.
