All 3 rogue specs have much stronger opening damage out of stealth. They feel off to you because you clearly don’t understand what you’re doing.
I keep 10 toons and use my Rogue most often for pvp only.
That’s irrelevant to my point. The mechanic is the exact same.
Rogues for me is for taunting people in open world. Sap 'em. Size 'em up and take a chance. gonna die? Vanish. Pickpocket and lock picking was good back in the day. Now with keys or the mecha gnome finger picking, and other ways to open boxes, that has went by the wayside.
I play Assasin when I go out and will ALWAYS have a rogue for the stealthyness and just being a turd with the horde
It isn’t, because Druid doesn’t have a toolkit that can be used from stealth.
You can sneak, but that’s it. No sap, no distract, no shadowstep.
Which means once you get where you need to go, you have nothing to keep yourself from being dog piled while you try to do the thing you’re there to do.
You can stun coming out of stealth in catform unless this has changed. After that, hope you know what you’re doing lol. I don’t generally PvP with anything outside of hunter/rogue
Rogue was cooler when you can do stuff in stealth. They took that away. It’s not a bad class, but some fun is gone.
Rogues are complicated for the sake of being complicated. I think the thematic of sub and outlaw are fine, but the implementation needs work. Assassination really went overboard with bleeds to the extent they feel like feral druids.
Give them a try for yourself though
I exclusively play sin rogue, when I do play the character and am a huge fan of delves. 1v1 is amazing, it’s dealing with mobs that’s an issues as the class is squishy. That being said, my rogue only shines in certain delves that you can stealth and eye poke your way through. Brann can be issue too, pulling extra…
I mostly use the class to gather mats, the sap ability is amazing.
I don’t pvp, that toxic environment… no way.
This patch it looks like Brann can tank, so maybe my rogue can do better.
PVE wise, that’s cata classic too, so, not much changing there.
you turn on blade flurry (if you have it, it comes later on in the old wows) and just earn your meter points that way.
Era lower levels you can build up some points. 50% of the time it’s to restock slice and dice as you lack long decent run time on it. It was tbc to cata changes that gave it a more decent run time to spam less.
BGs imo are where rogues learn to rogue more really. Issue is retail removed any strong motivation to do that. old pvp gear is really cosmetic at this point in retail.
I’ve fond memories of tbc brutal set being of great help to 70 to 80 leveling in wrath. it carried me to 76 easily. In retail, its a cosmetic set for marks.
Rogue has the lowest represented class base statistic in the game for a reason. Even if they’re egregiously over-buffed to strength they’re always immediately hotfixed; never left powerful.
Don’t bother.
