Is leveling 10-50 through dungeon spamming viable?

Spamming dungeons as a tank for fast ques i mean

Of course! I personally would get bored way too quickly trying it, but you can hit 50 without ever leaving the starting zone.

Usually do “cata” level dungeons til 25-30, then switch to BC/Wrath due to scaling where “cata” dungeon bosses have 2-3 times the HP of bc/wrath ones for w/e reason

It’s doable. Sometimes I go crazy and do a lot of dungeons. You can totally level, even to 60 through dungeoning.

Thanks! I meant though like is it better or faster than just questing?

Ohhh

If you can chain pull and keep yourself alive, you can probably do dungeons faster than questing early on at least

Once you get around 40-45, questing will probably win

This. Smart move is to do occasional dungeons while questing. Most leveling dungeons have a set of quests just inside that give a big chunk of xp, so it’s at least worth it to do each one of them once for that.

I haven’t timed it, but I would say solo leveling in WoD is just as fast (maybe faster) as dungeon spamming

I don’t think it’s faster than questing because usually you’re going to kill mobs in between getting from point A to point B anyway you’re gonna be collecting a lot of XP
But depending on the role you’re gonna play for example if you were a tank or healer you pretty much get Insta ques in dungeons so that could actually be very beneficial for DPS you might be waiting around longer in queue and that time spent you could’ve been questing to gather more xp

They both have their pros and cons there is better loot from dungeons and you probably will make more gold and that better loot is going to add to quicker questing if you decide that you want to quest in between ques so it’s a decision that you have to make and what role you want to play while dungeoning

Edit. I see you plan as que as a tank and then suggest dungeons Because if you’re not going to AOE grind you really are not going to do much damage killing one mob at a time I definitely would suggest going with dungeons you will get Insta cue but you also have a Lotta responsibility on your shoulders and you are going to get frustrated very fast with DPS that loves to pull ahead of you so if you can deal with that mentally I suggest going dungeons

You’ll get insta queues most expansions. I’ve done it on healers with light questing was easier when everyone was in the same queues before chromie time, but still works if your smart about chromie time selection.

I’ll just note BfA has had fastest queues but higher percentage of wipes, as low level healers aren’t fully equipped to deal with groups entirely ignoring mechanics on fights like rezan and the maw mouth thing in underrot.

Also add best to use heirlooms, as I once got to 40 with an ilvl 16 head and ilvl 5 white boots.

If your a DPS waiting 10-20mins no, just quest and do dungeons when they come up. But WoD questing is still the fastest proven method.

it is.
i spam dungeons til 60 to lvl up. i absolutely hate questing.

If you don’t need that toon capped right away but would like it capped anyway, I leveled a dk for heritage armor doing nothing but bfa assaults. You get about 1.5 levels per, plus the xp boost for the next one. So I parked him, did the assault, logged out until next time. Took some time but relatively low /played time.

I leveled 12 60s this expac doing the dungeon grinds as a tank or healer or having a tank or healer buddy in the group. After the nerf to WoD leveling they did and the nerfs to the garrison exp missions dungeon leveling is the quickest way to level for any class with a tank or healing spec.

Outside of near explorative methods anyway. (But those get nerfed after a youtuber posts them usually.)

I level up lightning fast by doing quests in Gorgrond, Jade Forest and a combination of dungeons while do. Gorgrond has over 20 drop quests from mobs using the spar garrison perk and killing the nine or so named mobs in that zone, plus bonus objectives. If you have two accounts, you can just use current timeline on Chromie and demolish the entire zone of Gorgrond in an hour with a max character, get all the drop quests, regular quests and objectives, some super fast XP. If you have one account, dungeons with a combo of Old Classic dungeons and BC dungeons while doing Shadowmoon Valley or Frostfire then Gorgrond, Jade Forest… some of the fastest XP in the game.

If you quest, War mode will add anywhere from 10 to 20% more XP after level 20. I hate to PVP, but you’ll almost never run into anyone until Gorgrond and most people will just ignore you anyway.

Yes. Like others have said, Cata dungeons from 1/10-30, and then I usually head to Pandaria after that. Do a few quests in Jade Forest while doing all of the dungeons and quests and switch to Wrath if needed.

do both… go quest while your waiting in queue.

It’s the most efficient way to level. Swap it up at 45 and start doing dungeons that have quests at the entrance. Double xp.
