Is it worth playing a Night Elf or Undead/Forsaken Race?

I have been debating and I got completely bored of playing my own race which is humans. Then I started to have really crazy ideas about Characters who I love from different kinds of Video Game, Movie, and Tv Show Franchises. I was wondering if playing a Night Elf would be Worth it in terms of being a Druid or being a Cool Dark Forsaken?

Since the Customization Options is coming next Expansion. I wonder how good is it to RP as a Night Elf or Forsaken?

I love druids so I’m super biased but my answer is a resounding yes, especially considering how awesome the Night Fae & Ardenweald look.

(Edit because I didn’t make the point I’d intended, ha: if you’re feeling like rolling a new character, I’m of the mind that doing it now gives you time to settle into the character, instead of dropping into the expansion with a brand new character and flailing around a bit to get your footing. YMMV, of course.)

Something I’ve found helpful while dreaming of alts is messing about with the Shadowlands dressing room :computer_mouse: over at WoWhead. It has a lot of the customisation options loaded in (but it’s not without bugs). You can mess around and see what changes you think might be worth waiting for.

They’re both races I wanted to try RPing, but never got fully into.

Forsaken are cool, but I’ve been unable to RP one because it always felt like Blizzard squandered their potential. Too much of their story was just Sylvanas’ story, so I had trouble connecting to them.

Night Elves have a cool racial, but I think you’ll either need to join a Night Elf-specific guild, or just a lore focused guild to find Night Elf RP and not Stormwind purple human RP. It goes without saying that they were pretty great in WC3.
Actually, I guess I did RP a rogue Highborne antihero for a bit.

I think both races are cool though.

Subjective question, ultimately, my man!

If you like their lore, I’m sure you’ll love RPing them. I’d suggest giving it a go! There’s a Forsaken community discord which can be a good place to connect with guilds and RP. Undercity United, it’s called! I’m not as plugged into the night elven community I’m afraid, but I know it’s active enough, and certainly full of fascinating RP potential!

At the end of the day though, my advice? Jump in, give it a go, and see what transpires. Make a Forsaken or Night Elf character, do some random RP, see how you like the character, their themes, and so on!

I used to be Forsaken, cool race, cool places . Quiet and relaxing with mystical appearances. However, I was playing Forsaken until Sylvanas messed up, then I changed to Alliance ( night elf ) and found my destiny there. Playing Forsaken without Sylvanas there is boring, places are really cool but usually empty.

Of course playing a Night Elf is worth it! I’ve actually noticed a slight uptick in Night Elf RP, but that could be entirely because I am personally actively looking for it.

As far as Forsaken goes, my answer is pretty much the same. I don’t keep up with Horde RP as much as I do Alliance RP, but I have seen some interesting Forsaken guilds advertising on the forums.

Ultimately, it is up to you to find the RP that you want, and only you can make the best decision regarding that.

Undead RP is where it’s at! So many great people and many different guilds for it!

Forsaken are a pretty fun race to RP with a lot of variety in terms of RPers and guilds.

I like the undead, I just think Sylvannas stole too much of the spotlight from them. We can’t even be undead elves, even though she is one and all the dark rangers (as far as I know) are elves.

Night elves are cool, even though I can’t stand that idle bouncing female characters do. There’s a lot of variety and lore and stuff you can do with them.

If you fancy roleplaying as a pink bunny, I say nick a tin of pink paint and glue a snowball on your bum! Get out and do what chuffs you!

Undead and Night Elves are, in my opinion, in such a robust position for RP right now if you’re looking to get into it:

Forsaken just “lost” their leader and home and there are perfect opportunities out there for intrigue between those still loyal to Sylvannas and those who don’t think she has the Forsaken’s best interests at heart anymore. Night Elves are in a similar position with losing their home, but their leader is vehemently on the warpath for retribution. You could potentially have a character follow through with the Night Warrior path or maybe play the more pragmatic approach with keeping close to the alliance, seeing as the kal’dorei already lost so much in the war.

Of course there are so, so many other possibilities outside of internal/external faction strife but I figure it’s a great platform to work off of if anything. I say roll a new character, bring them to an event or two to get a feel of them and see if you think it’s for you.
