I wouldn’t. It’s a buggy mess that make affixes like Sanguine, Quaking, and Volcanic even bigger headaches. All of the others usually have room (With the exception of Skyreach), and aren’t just straight lines for 2-3 bosses.
It was absolutely trolled. Most people would see grimrail and think “there’s no way Blizzard is that stupid” but here we are.
The supposed theory is that people in mass and with a ton of alt accounts inflated grimrail purposely to make it the other WoD keystone dungeon. As to whether this is true or not is up in the air, and I imagine we’ll never know the full truth. Yet practically speaking with how the community as while acts it wouldn’t surprise me if they did in form indeed do that. Given grimrail is gonna suck with quaking, sanguine, storming and spiteful. It’s super tight in the train part especially, and super easy to pull extra packs.
100% with you on this …lol
Yes let’s blame blizzard for a player voted dungeon
I don’t think they thought quaking through with Docks being in the rotation with the last boss.
I do think folks did vote for Grimrail outta spite. I’m sure there are like 10 folks that do enjoy it though.
The voting bit was merely to save face and show they are listening… it was only done for the last dungeon I think. Ultimately I feel they wanted to give their bigger dungeons more attention from the player base. Or who knows what.
Were the votes trolled? Probably. Nothing surprises me.
I can’t believe this happened to us
i voted for the train because i wanted to see the forums mad.
People trolled grimrail 100%
I like Iron Docks, if for no other reason than the voice acting in it is hilarious.
I don’t particularly like Grimrail – the cannon boss is a loopy mess even without M+ – but I will take it 100 times over compared to the Shadowmoon dungeon. Can you imagine Shadowmoon on Tyrannical week with tuning like what we have in Kara right now and groups that didn’t know the place? The most popular NPC in the game for weeks would be the key trader dude that pops up at the end of completed dungeons.
So many haters of grimrail y’all hate linear don’t you you people.
they’re just mad they can’t skip.
I just like quality dungeons. I’m sure at one time all these were. But they aren’t anymore. all of the shadowlands dungeons seemed quality. The pull patterns were fun. The mechanics didn’t seem overly RNG and one-shotty…, they were fun… gave more of a ‘sport’ feel… ugh. I want my game back
By that logic no dungeon is completely non-linear, which is the truth. There are still going to be segments in almost every dungeon where you’re forced to go a specific way.
Sure, but at the same time that’s how dungeons have always been. Very few break this trend, Everbloom included.
The issue with Grimrail isn’t that it’s more of the same- it’s that it’s the same concept to an extreme. You literally have no choices to make.
lol… I liked this.
You could skip most of Everbloom. You could have skipped a fair amount EoA. You can skip most of Junkyard. You can skip a fair amount of HoA. And these are just dungeons with skips not dungeons with meaningful paths/routes of which we can both agree there are.
I get where you’re coming from in the whole choosing what packs to fight thing, and I agree with you to an extent. However, to me, it feels rather pointless if there is no significant “play” or “move” to it. One of my old favorites even though I hated the dungeon was to blow up extra trash in Motherlode then lock gate past several packs through a wall and just blow up boss, but there isn’t really any current version of that unless we’re talking season 3 relic stuff. And even then it’s not really the same since the cheese/skip was designed.
Which is why I like it and probably why it was chosen apart from trolling. Just do XYZ and finish the dungeon except instead of XYZ it’s more just Z.
I guess it’s just down to player preference. I like cheese and simplicity. On one hand I get a laugh with cheese, and on the other hand not really having to worry if people are gonna botch a stealth or not have an invis pot is really nice. Just pound through.
Just do it now.
It seems so arbitrary and wrong for them to just remove all of the SL dungeons. Why couldn’t they just do 4/4 like how they’re doing in DF. 4 ‘new’ ones and 4 legacy dungeons.
I’m mainly complaining from a place of simply not liking the dungeon design and for them not having the same feel as M+ in Shadowlands. It almost felt like an action adventure game this expansion (in m+) … I loved it!
But even if I was a super filthy casual; I would be part of a demographic that would also appreciate doing the 4/4, because it’s less things to have to learn… it would bring us down to change gradually… rather then ‘‘WOOPS REMEMBER HOW M+ HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS?! THAT’S GONE NOW. ENJOY THESE NEW-OLD DUNGEONS YOU PROBABLY WON’T APPRECIATE BECAUSE IT WAS DESIGNED YEARS AGO WHEN THE GAME WAS LESS AMAZING AND WHEN THESE AFFIXES DIDN’T EXIST. OH DON’T LIKE IT? K SEE YOU IN 5 MONTHS MAYBE IF DF PIQUES YOUR INTEREST’’
I’m too self conscious that I’ll ruin it for the rest of the group. But I could easily start. I’m guessing mythic 0-5 are pretty easy.
