I have been out of WoW for roughly 6 months. Never progressed that far into BFA, but far enough to feel the need to ask this question.
Am I too far behind to come back without feeling like I don’t have enough time to catch up, or feel out of place?
I am married, dad of a 7 month old, and have a career. So I’m lucky if I could get 2-3 hours a day (if possible) to play. Probably more so 10 hours a week (7-day period). I am not expecting to be 3 night raid week end game, but just curious if I am that behind.
Positive discussion please!

you would be fine gear wise, catch up mechanics are hefty…
For a person in your situation, no. There are plenty of catch up mechanics, but that’s basically all you’ll be doing with 2-3 hours a day, especially when that 2-3 hours a day will be interrupted quite a bit because of the child and wife.
I guess it depends what you want to get out of the game, but for the most part I would say no. Even if you budgeted your time really well, you’d still have issues doing M+ and raiding, and since you’re already behind and your progression is going to be slow, you’ll find it harder and harder to find groups. Norm Battle has been out for a week and there are already people demanding 390 ilvl people… this is just the nature of things.
Yeah no, you can catch up there’s plenty of things you can do to get geared quickly.
Warfronts my friend. Once you run dungeons at L120, you can eventually get into heroics. Get some gear out of there and hit the warfronts to get Ilevel 355’s. Then you can do mythics Ect…
Catching up shouldn’t be too hard. Spend the time right now doing regular and then heroic dungeons, and when the next round of Warfronts come around for The Horde, spend a week doing those. Each one takes roughly 20-30 mins with a guaranteed drop at the end.
sure there are plenty of catch up mechanics, but the game itself isn’t fun, so what is the point?

I generally play only 1-2 hours a day these days.
The catch up mechanics in this current iteration of the game have generally gotten better in time.
I.e. It’s never too late to get back into WoW unless you’re in a hurry
Nah, bruh. Gearing up is easy enough if you’ve got the time (and if you’ve got the gold and AH has the stock, you can skip the first steps of gearing entirely).
The honest answer is if you do pugs then yes, right now you’re behind because they’re already asking for 7/9 or 9/9 whatever just for normal. If you’re in a guild you’re never really behind as long people are willing to take you along which should NEVER be a problem - but then again this is world of warcraft after all.
As for gearing up it isn’t too hard. It just comes down to are you in a guild or are you trying to pug things.
Isn’t fun subjective?
Also, why are you playing a game you don’t find fun? Why not unsub and go play something else?
