I been playing wow classic hardcore for a while now and didn’t step into the SoD scene yet, but now recently keen to give it ago.
Since its been out for a while now, before i step in, I’m I too late to give it a go from level 1?
If not, what US server would you recommend?

It’s definitely not too late. Based on how the devs have spoken during the interviews, as well as all the content that still has yet to come out (not even including any newer teased raids), I expect there will still be a long life cycle for SoD, much longer than SoM had. There is still plenty for them to milk with SoD.
There are basically two mega servers now, so it depends on what mode you want to play. Wild Growth is the PvE realm and its still pretty active. Crusader Strike is the PvP server, I can’t speak on how active it is because I don’t play on it, but I’d suspect its pretty well off if its the server that everyone has to transfer to.

There are people that still advertise/do low level raids even down to BFD. To me the larger problem would be if they want to raid after they hit 60. Many guilds are only “online” for raid day or at least many of the ones I know.
If you can play a solo game in a mmorpg then sure. It’s not too late. Otherwise, yeah, it’s too late.
I just restarted from scratch after not playing since P1. It definitely doesn’t feel too late. There are still plenty of folks leveling in the open world, and I haven’t had trouble getting runes so far. People are in the chat LFM for dungeons at whatever levels.
I’m not a raidy type, but if the number of guild invites being tossed at my face (or whispers when I have guild invites blocked) every time I log on is any indication, there are still lots of guilds recruiting and looking to fill slots.
Its not too late but you will have a hard time finding dungeons to do at lower levels. Would say do some research on classes depending on the phase. Some classes are doing really well and others have it rooough.
Is there an option to move toons? I have a couple of toons on Lava Lash that I got to level 20 back when it first came out then went back to retail but when I logged on went to SW to the Ah there was nothing on it and not a soul in SW.
