Have most players already done the preraid stuff?
The nature of classic is that once people get all the gear they tend to stop playing, so there’s always a need for players who are able to perform required roles and attend. Also there’s always a shortage of certain classes in general since there’s only 1 lockout per raid per character. There are always going to be people making alts.

There are always new people/alts/people starting over on new servers, it’s definitely not too late, you may just need a little more patience than you might have in September

It’s very difficult to find people to do anything but farming, selling/buying runs, or raiding. That changes a bit from server to server but it’s still difficult on most servers.
The game is all about endgame now, pretty much.

It depends on the server, some of them will only do current content while most of them still do pug mc/bwl
It is better than ever, I leveled this priest to 60 last week. Completed most of my attunements while leveling. Found an amazing and friendly guild, they even took me to AQ40 with green gear. As of today, I have my Benediction and 2 pieces T2 and some T1.

Certainly not. Get to 60, get pre-BiS and then start running ZG, MC and Ony.
You can conceivably be ready for bigger and better things in just a couple of weeks.

You don’t need prebis to do ZG nor Ony, and you can probably get into MC PuGs even, in questionable gear. Dungeon gear is overrated at this point.

I’m sure it benefits everyone else in the raid to be in pre-BiS. It’s a basic courtesy.
I disagree. At this point, it’s a waste of time. MC, ZG and AQ20 are “prebis” dungeons now.

You are possibly asking the wrong question. If you feel that you need to make 60 and gear up (title of your post), then you may need to be concerned with what meta you’ll be expected to conform to with whatever class you level.
I was very disappointed to level my warrior and find that I’m expected to go Fury (for tanking) as opposed to Prot, and collect world buffs, DM tribute, etc. to be “taken seriously” by decent raid guilds. Sure, people will chime in and say “my guild doesn’t meta” or whatever, but it’s definitely going against the grain.

Plus dungeons don’t have a lockout
Farming pre-bis is 100% a waste of time.
You’d be better of farming gold and buying the most basic of stuff in an MC or ZG gbid.
I’m about to hit 60 on my horde-alt, am in lv. 26 questing greens and will simply take some alliance gold over and buy basic gear in MC and BWL to then run ZG, AQ20 and Ony. And once I have enough gear to hold my own I can run those raids regularly until I am ready for AQ40.

Don’t listen to the people telling you “X is a waste of time, don’t bother.”
There are plenty of people still seeking dungeons that aren’t raids. While yes it’s a bit harder today compared to 8-12 months ago, the release of phase 5 has implemented a lot of good new loot in these places, so a fresh 60 can find value here still.

With the way things are looking now is probably a fine time to be looking toward what comes next. TBC or Classic+ you can be working toward that.
I see people leveling alts all the time. Did a Warlord’s Command LBRS run with someone’s alt about an hour ago.
If no one was leveling alts, there wouldn’t be any more Rend heads dropping.
I’d agree at this point you can skip the tier 0 dungeons and stuff and just head into ZG or MC. ZG and AQ20 are catch up raids. If you’re in a guild, most people got all their stuff from MC or Ony, so you can basically run it and collect free gear.
There was a new warlock in our guild who went from greens and blues to almost 5 epics in one night.

any low level you see is just another lvl60 alt who wont group or dungeon with you
all raiding guilds have established loot prios so you wouldnt get any new gear
games over in 7 months. just wait for tbc
dude its much better time. Zg give you insane gear and good catchup gear crafting can put you hit cap .
actually the best time to play would be phase 1 or phase 6 .
Phase one only give tier to some specific class and power to just specific one i feel liek phase 5 give more power to hybrid and that fun.
