Is it to late to start playing classic?

Well is it?

is never too late to play if you go in with a “I’m gonna play the game at my pace and have fun” attitude.

No but you will miss some things like: people rp-ing in global chat channels, 20 people grouping around Sarkoth just to finish the quest, people giving away 6 slot linen bags in starting zones, people expressing joy at having 1 silver FINALLY, layers, ridiculously low AH prices, stuff like that.

That stuff was fun.

Which is why I sometimes think we should have fresh servers eventually.
F R E S H classic is a very unique time.

Perfect time to start. You do not have to compete for every mob while leveling. Lots of groups for dungeons and when you hit max you can quickly get into MC and get gear as alot of clearing guilds hand out off pieces to new people.

We’re currently in phase 2 of 6. Were still on the first raiding tier, and even if you don’t make it to raid before phase 3 drops there are loads of catch up mechanics.

It’s ansolutey NOT too late to start playing wow classic.

I fail to understand why so many people seem to think classic is going to be a six month game.

I’m willing to bet we have at least three more years before we see if anything new is going to happen or not.

Roll an alt. Start fresh. There is a lot of life left in this thing. People on the forums might make you think you only have 90 more days of classic left. They are trolls. Ignore those.

It won’t be the same as launch experience… which I’m sure some people hated… though I really enjoyed it.

But you can still join. Lots of people leveling alts right now.

I wouldn’t mind if there was some kinda league mechanic where new servers would spin up with new changes and most people made new toons… they’d have to speed up leveling though for that kinda system to work… and there would have to be a standard server kinda like how poe does it.

I think leveling is one of the best parts of the game.

I’m starting now.

Taking my time and not rushing through everything has been extremely enjoyable for me.

I’m not a clueless teen this go around so my time spent in game has been much more effencient as well.

It’s definitely not too late, and now is a good time to get in a raiding team because a lot of hardcore people already have their MC/Ony gear and stopped showing up for raids until BWL

if anything its the best time to start because all 60s are in bgs so you shouldn’t be griefed nearly as much as you would have been in phase 2

[Is it to late to start playing classic?]

Nope.

Classic has existed for 16 weeks (4 months).

Nope come to stalagg as alliance lol

Is there a certain class I should pick up as a solo leveler or classes I should avoid?

Come on in.

Classic is about to shed a lot of…negatively inclined folk.

Should be better :sunglasses:

The content isn’t new. Therefore it’s never too late to start playing Classic.

Probably a better time to start than the earlier launch days. Competing with dozens & dozens of players for the same few mob spawns on EVERY quest was pretty annoying, tiring & time consuming. Plus, there are still players around in all the various zones to assist with the elite or tougher quests - you just have to ask in chat most of the time. I’m glad that I started messing around on so many alts & let the main player pack pull ahead. My current highest level is my 42 Druid. Not like you have to rush to 60 to enjoy the endgame content/gear before it is completely invalidated by the next expansion…

No its not.

Not at all. (Seriously … people were joining vanilla WOW from the day it released until the day the expansion dropped and made it not vanilla any more, and they were still joining and playing through Azeroth to at least 58 for years after that.)

HOWEVER, do go into it with realistic expectations.

  • If you join a PvP realm, you will be the low level character who may be camped relentlessly by someone who finds camping and ganking fun.
  • If you join BGs, you may find yourself up against a bunch of partially and fully twinked characters - and some of them aren’t nice to their own teammates if they aren’t “up to par”.
  • If you want to do low-level dungeons, the times you can find people around may not be prime time.
  • If you want to raid, many existing guilds may have slots, but may be pickier about what classes and roles they need than when they were just getting 40 warm bodies.
  • If you want to play the AH, you won’t have the massive nest egg to compete.
  • If you want to rock the professions, just about every recipe you could work for already has someone making and selling it.
  • If you want to make friends, you may mostly run across players on alts who already have their friends.

Basically, don’t go in with anything more than hoping to have fun, and you should do just fine.
