I see a lot of people are just gone now after resubbing, I don’t think SL is a flop, WoW is just an ancient game.
We need a WoW 2, new engine, new mechanics

Boring game man idk you pet collectors can tell me otherwise
ya it is not even over yet
No.
That’s more than enough time to Guage it.
Yes. Because optimism is supposed to crushed.
Yes too early.
First patch has to deliver though!
way too early.
People judged BFA too early too - by 8.3 it was some of the most fun i’ve had in WoW in years so…
yeah give it a couple patches
Thinly veiled WoW 2 post.
Ignoring that part, I think it’s far too early to judge this expansion based on its literal release patch.
MoP and Wrath would’ve been catastrophically bad if they were judged based on how they were on release. Legion would’ve been universally reviled under those same conditions. And Cataclysm would be hailed as one of the better expansions.
If you genuinely think the release patch is enough time to judge an expansion you’re legit not allowed to like Legion IMO.
They werent wrong…
BFA was an overall mess, so badly that many consider it even worse than WoD
i would never go that far, but i guess to each their own
I don’t care how many subscriptions they gained or how many they lost of course it’s too early to call it a flop or a hit.
Wait till end game then you can judge it fully and definitively
I mean when you consider the reason both failed, BFA was actually worse
While WoD’s main issue was lack of content, most of it was good.
Its the opposite in BFA, it had a lot of “content” aka time wasters, and most of it was either mediocre or terrible, to the point that two mayor features of the expansion were abandoned.
Sadly, it seems Shadowlands took after BFA from the start.
i don’t consider BFA a failure though…
i know some people like bellular do but…i don’t…
i think it’s better than shadowlands in quite a few aspects lol
I think the raiding is too good to be a flop. Raiding is enjoyable. And the new systems are not-broken(conduits and covenants are not good, fun, or interesting and largely pointless since classes are pigeonholed but they arent broken, as a night fae warlock my abilities function appropriately)
those two things combined make it not a flop, at least for me.
I’d be disappointed if the forums weren’t calling it a flop, really. What’s the point of this place if everything isn’t awful?
flop or not? It is likely to early to tell. All I know is that WOD and BFA were debating between the two who was the worse expansion and SL walked in to the room and said" hold my beer"…it’s about to get real
BfA was probably fine in 8.3, but it was horribly unfun for me and many others in 8.0 and 8.1. I quit in 8.0 and came back for a couple weeks to get flying. By the time I came back in 8.3 I was so behind in essences, heart of azeroth levels, corruption and the legendary cloak that I didn’t feel like there was any point in trying to get caught up, so I just left again to wait for SL. That was the major issue with BfA, for me.
i love SL so… /shrug.
I’m not really interested in how others label things. if you look on any site you’ll see people being wrong all the time.
Way too early, but they did themselves no favors with this dumb and destructive idea that there was too much loot.
Very quickly people realized there was little value in running M+ beyond for RIO score or the great vault.
Since then they’ve already had to increase raid loot and are working on a clumsy way to allow people to upgrade M+ gear. All because they went into this believing the dopey stuff streamers, influencers, elitists told them about too much loot being some problem. It wasn’t.
