Is it time to re-add certain Vanilla gameplay elements to Retail?

I actually enjoyed them in UO.

You can still do all that in retail (drinks aren’t very important unless you’re healing, but food is always helpful), other options are simply better.

The removal of ammo was a GOOD thing in every conceivable way.

Nothing, Retail is a superior experience in almost every way. The ONLY thing Classic has over Retail is all of the content (quests and dungeons) that Blizz made the massive mistake of removing in Cata.

A Faraway Voyage of 380 000 Kilometers is my limit.

lmao.

I’ll support that and raise it a NEIN.

is that not enough ?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. It’s like hunters hanving mana, and needing pieces that give int to do really anything. Not a chance would I EVER use ammo again. That being said, I do have a character that still has a stack of arrows from Wrath just before the change.

make the hunter ammo be candy corn.

miss literally nothing from vanilla

nowadays i just want more stuff off-GCD and loot systems that aren’t focused on the vault, M+, and attaching rep grinds to every single piece of gear

Retail is full of usefull vendors. Most require some reputation, which tequires gameplay.

They want levelers who are new players and/or have no heirlooms to be badly geared. This is not an accident. How else could a level 10 get ilvl 9-11 gear from a quest, while heirlooms are 26 and dungeons 33? The discrepancy never goes away. It only gets worse as a player reaches higher level, as those players need more gear because they have more slots to fill or upgrade, while fast leveling leads to less rewards, which ensures that they will fall further behind the longer they play.

That shadowlands tower took forever.

you still need water and junk vendors.

I’m not looking to use gray items off of vendors as my gear…

Thats why you have SOD. Enjoy.

Absolutely NOT.

Vanilla gameplay elements like purposefully obtuse quests and generally just badly designed systems? Maw no.

But I wouldn’t hate something like the Rune system, assuming they don’t make them absolutely stupid to obtain, like farming a specific rare mob or some sort like Retail likes to do.

But some thematic tasks, like the way to unlock Metamorphosis for Warlocks would be neat. You know, like class quests. Like the game used to have but got rid of to stream line things.

Honestly I think the big “vanilla” thing people who are trying SoD and whatnot love is that players are forced into a relatively small play area and have to interact. Which on a technical sense is possible to do, just ya know…hard to do since the playable game space is stupid vast now.

All this stuff was removed to appease the hardcore player base that the developers have been catering the game around for many expansions.

A lot of the class flavor and overall game flavor was streamlined out of the game to appease people that play the game like it is a job.

Let me help you make it even more clear;

No, honestly let retail be retail, these players don’t have the attention span past an aoe rotation, the devs can work on both structures, I’m enjoying classic, I’ll eventually get around to try out the war within (was that stolen from Warframe?) eventually, I don’t expect much Blizzard to be honest, the company has been a joke for the past few years now, they’re in steep competition with EA, Bethesda and others to who is the worse gaming company of this generation.

Blizzard I think is winning.

Pretty much nothing from Classic’s leveling experience would work in retail because you level so fast. And also, the various squishes of the years have completely botched low level gear.
