For a small % of the playing base we love collecting mounts, some of us are now past 1000 mounts on the in-game journal. This means if we want to collect those last couple of mounts for our collection we need to be putting in a lot of effort doing the same content over and over again, meaning we are effectively missing out on other aspects of the game.
Now go ahead and say the infamous words, I won’t bite, I know that we don’t have to do this.
Yesterday I got one of my last RNG mounts, I got the RNG mount from Queen. I don’t PVP for reasons so I don’t consider ever trying to get those seasonal mounts and saddles, but I do have all the other ‘PVP’ category mounts.
I still have mythic Fyrakk and Queen and the current raid achievement as the only 3 that currently require a group. And because I am not good enough for CE, I literally now have 2 mounts left that require a group that I can actually attempt, Fyrakk and the current raid achievement.
For those very small times I have playing WoW I can no decide to do something else. Catch up on mogs and achievements, collect those missing pets I want, level some random alt, whatever it is I can now enjoy other parts of the game, and it’s good, no stress about missing an LFR attempt that could have been, no more waiting hours in queue, just now a relaxing time playing.
We have mount and pet collecting, achievements and mog farming, why is it that mount collecting is the worst of those and has never really been changed since the games inception? You cannot sell spare mounts on the AH like pets, mogs were changed to allow any class to collect mogs for your account, even achievements can be done years later with almost no effort.
But you go back to any raid, any dungeon, any rare, or anything that is RNG and it’s just as tedious now as it was when it was first released. Why is it mount farming is still the only thing that has never really changed?
