Is it safe to upgrade to MacOS 26 yet?

This forum has been quiet the last few days.

The key press performance issue has been fixed.

Border issue I guess is still there …

I don’t think so. I haven’t seen anyone posting anything along the lines of “it’s fixed!” so I’m going to wait until I do. Not worth the risk.

I have a Mac Studio M4 max 64 gb with the latest OS updates and I haven’t had any issues. I hope that helps.

Probably should tell you this if you haven’t noticed …

Some people have noticed a 1 pixel border when using Borderless Window mode.

I haven’t upgrade to macOS 26 yet, but since I’m pretty much done everything I wanted to in S3 so far, I guess I’ll upgrade and report back if anything funky happens. Will be installing on M3 Pro MBP 18/18.

EDIT: Been playing for several hours after updating. No noticeable performance loss. The 1-pixel border is there but I barely notice it unless I’m in a fully dark location.

Since the manual “fix” it runs better.

No complaints since besides the usual we had for years.

What about the border issue?

As of today, the border issue still exists. I honestly don’t notice it anymore though.

I’ve been running WOW on MacOS 26 since it was released with no issues.

Heard it added a 1 pixel border when in Borderless Window mode.

It still does, but not that noticeable in-game. Mostly only notice it during login screen and zone transition screens, but not while actually playing.

Note: If you have “Increase Contrast” on in Display settings the border is hella noticeable though, so make sure that isn’t on.

The 1 pixel border is certainly there still, and on my OLED display it is very noticeable at first, but once you get going in the game you kind of forget about it. I’d still like them to fix it.

I took this screenshot for another bug reason (a login stall), but the border is visible in the shot, so you can see it here:
