From what I’ve read, Lookingforgroup is an official blizzard channel, not a player-created one designed for looking for groups. However, It is often very hard to find a group due to all the guilds spamming their five-line recruitment message, and my actual LFG posts falling off extremely quickly.
Is it reportable as spam for someone to be repeatedly posting the wrong thing (guild recruitement or selling things) in LookingForGroup.
Also, please take note, While, yes I can put them on ignore, it doesn’t solve the problem, because other people are still seeing their spam messages, so mine aren’t getting through and being seen.

With that logic, posting dungeon group spam or guild recruitment in trade chat should be reportable.
Don’t be silly
I’m confused, do you think that chat channels are only for you? Thousands of people this game. They have a right to post in channels as much as you do.
You need to take a hard look at yourself and realize that it’s not always about you. It’s a hard pill to swallow, I know.
What the * is up with these replies. Oh you’re whining whaaa. The people whining about whiners are the new ones
There’s literally a guild recruitment channel in game
OP that definitely sounds like a spam report to me

Fun thing about Classic is that due to Blizzard’s laziness, EVERYTHING is now reportable as spam!
I could say “I like sandwiches” in a general chat and if a consensus agrees, it could be a actionable offense

Yes. That should be reportable. Trade chat should be for trade chat. Lookingforgroup should be for people looking for group.
I report people from both. Keep it up OP. Don’t let them get you down.

Only in cities. LookingForGroup is global. That being said it’s almost 2020, people should have figured out years ago how to scan through text in a game.
No, trade chat is for politics and selling overpriced greens
LFG is for dungeons and guild recruitment
LookingForGuild is not used

Do you really have nothing better to do OP?
Thanks to right click reporting, only takes a few seconds to get rid of the spammers.
At the risk of invoking a great deal of anger from the masses, I think that this is a pretty good example of why Blizzard should either not actively discourage the LFG addon, or just give us the LFG functionality of TBC. On a busy server it really is a pain to have to sift through a mountain of text to get a group together. Especially when a large amount is guild spam text walls.
There’s no official rule book that says what you can and cant use different chat channels for. If you’re reporting people you will likely receive action against your account for falsely reporting.
If that’s a risk you want to take, just because you think you can dictate what gets put in what channels, then go for it chief.
So just because you want to use a channel for something other than what it was intended for, we should have to suffer?
Better option would be petitioning Blizzard for a /gossip channel to join.
If people being social and talking is suffering to you then I would suggest trying out Battle for Azeroth, I heard it’s great if you don’t want to interact with others.
Or how about quit wasting time with trivial things that have never been an issue for most people. So many go out of their way to look for things to “report” now over non-issues. Notice Blizzard has been ignoring Classic forums? Wonder why.
Considering that 1) a guild is not a “group” in the sense of dungeon or raid groups, and 2) there is an official GuildRecruitment channel in the game, the answer seems very clear. The pushback you’re seeing in the thread is from egocentrists who can’t compute that if no one followed rules, it wouldn’t be possible to accomplish anything.
