Is it possible to play through every expansions content 100% before hitting max level?

Last time I tried this I ended up hitting max LONG before this, idk if there was an xp boost going on but this really ruined the experience for me.

Nope, sadly not. Even without heirlooms.

Yes. Freeze your xp in Org/Stormwind.

Pretty much have to turn xp gains off at a npc in Org, or Stormwind. Imo they should add a button, or switch you can toggle on, and off on character screen with an option to disable xp, if you like, instead of having to go to a faction city to turn it on, and off.

I’m certain EK/Kalimdor/BC will max you before you hit.

Doing pure storyline stuff for Legion and it’s close.

My Legion character:

So far done intro-> Stormhiem → Asuna → Valsharah and onto the start of High Mountain. I’ve done every major ending dungeon quest to get back 3/4 pillars of creation and in WM.

I think I’ll likely ding 60 before I finish High mountain but it is close enough to be an enjoyable experience. Semi-considering stopping exp at 57, I want to fill that room in the middle of Dalaran before my quests become useless.

If I wasn’t in WM it might just be bang-on perfect for Legion.

Not even close lol I just levelled a character from 1-70 in just BFA alone. Full clearing 2 zones put me to 60 and into Dragonflight let alone any of the other xpacs lol.

It’s wild how blizzard thinks this is going to retain players who are completely new to the game considering you get midway through a storyline and without even seeing the conclusion you’re thrown into Dragonflight and left with a “wtf?” mentality

No. :dracthyr_crylaugh: Not by a long shot.

Well at this point it will take months to a year or more depending on your time spent playing to make it thru all content from all 9 expansions. Especially if you’re reading quest text which id assume someone interested in doing this would do. And many players pick up WoW to play with others which is done mostly at max level in the current xpac. I think it would be cool to have an optional new player experience where Chromie takes you back in time to the higlights of each xpac and finishes with you ready to jump into the current one. Then she can tell you about chromie time if you want to do a full xpac on an alt. This way players get the general idea of the entire lore and can see which ones interest them most to go thru on alts or quickly on their main at max level. Either way with the game being 19 years old with continuous content being added every couple months its going to be a massive time investment for someone new wanting to do it all.

go freeze your exp before ur kicked out of chromie.

It is absolutely not possible. Even if you froze your XP and went through quests for an entire expansion, many legacy quests were removed/updated at various times, certain dungeons and raids are missing, legendaries removed or disabled… etc. Can’t be done.

They put in some replacement which as someone who started the game much later feels funny to watch.

Doing Druid campaign while doing Legion and when you get your legendary you transform in the cutscene but then you’re back to normal afterwards. Also so many times my ‘Hierloom’ weapon has been powered up in the campaign but I ain’t feeling it yet :joy:.

But I’m glad they do atleast unlock these appearances in the barber shop as I progress through legion and I can still throw in fire/life relic items into my legion weapon and have it reasonably strong but my level. Not the authentic experience but not bad either

You don’t want the authentic experience if you play more than one spec, let me tell you.

Two things would absolutely get me invested in leveling right now.

  1. Solo “party sync” where I can scale down to content or replay it, like you can if you join someone else’s party while they’re leveling.
  2. Difficulty tiers for world content and leveling.

I believe you entirely.
12 bis skill warforged relic items for 4 different Druid legendaries. Yucky

Then farming anime/azerite artifact power

Relics were the least of your worries.

Legiondaries would drop randomly from emissaries, boss kills, M+ completes… etc. for your current loot spec. Upon looting one, you basically guaranteed you’d never get one again during that entire patch cycle and it was completely random! If you were fire mage without bracers, you were doing like 80% of the damage a bracer mage would do. Bad times.

Worse than that though was Artifact Power. If you only played one spec like I do you were swimming in it… if you were swapping though? Guess what didn’t follow from weapon to weapon… :frowning:

Entire patch cycle??? I remember getting one every other week.

Well, you used up all your bad luck protection when you got one, so you didn’t have much bad luck.

As others have said you can freeze your xp at storm/org. I would freeze it at level 50 over 59 due to you will be limited in dungeons you can run if you hit level 51.
There is a issue with chomie time as soon you hit level 51 you are like limited to 4 dungeons in the rdf. I really wish blizzard would fix this.
:beverage_box: :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

Most new players want to get to the current content asap.

Stopping XP is the only way.
