Is it possible to be a Draenei warrior?

What kinda lore would like a Draenei protection warrior follow?

(Basically wanting to make two Draenei characters but I am difficultly thinking of good lore in my head).

Hmm… You forsake the Light when seeing the true nature of what it is? So you rely on raw strength and will of your own to do the job? Something along the lines there.

Perhaps the Draenei Warrior has questioned the light due to Yrel and her antics?

Started off as a Paladin, but he/she’s wary of the light so refuses to channel it.

Therefore… Physical warrior.

Can still heal here and there via racial… But THAT’S IT!

Thank you Rose and Skozzah, so it’s kinda like T’partos but instead of necessarily pursuing the light the Draenei honed the strength and love into defending their people through physical might?

Maybe they’re just not very good at magic and are trying to make up for it with brute strength in the hopes that they develop some magical talent along the way.

Indeed.

Still wants to fight for their people, just… didn’t overly trust the light.

Draenei aren’t Lightforged. They’re not all infused with Light or anything. They all follow different paths.

Also a good suggestion.

I had something similar in mine but I kind of halfassed it by making a LF Draenei who is still a paladin (Sometimes shadow priest) who doesn’t like the light due to zealous behavior she saw in her brethren, she originally was a normal Draenei before.

That’s the part that gets me. In the lore they are generally very intelligent people and generally I didn’t see where warrior lore could come in.

I can work with that, I’m actually not very smort myself so I would fine an attachment to that :joy:.

They’re just the Neville Longbottom of paladins

Anyone’s capable of being a warrior, and I don’t think they necessarily have to lack intelligence. You can see them as very clever and tactical with decisions they make. They can be very good leaders.

I mean, just because someone believes in the light, doesn’t mean they have to draw from its powers.

Similar to how Night Elves don’t have to be priests just because they believe in Elune, a Draenei warrior could simply be someone who errs more to the practical and prefers to be the shield in front of others rather than the tender of their wounds.

That’s true. I think of the Draenei leaders and I just thought something. Maybe they saw that becoming a leader usually leads the people to a crazy end of things (velen was a good leader he is mostly ‘light magical’ and very strong in his ways, other leaders became super evil, Yrel is a paladin but they kinda take over all of alt Draenor) they want to be different so they abandon pursuing magic?

Yeah, I could see them using more elegant and smart swordplay, not everything is brute force for sure.

Maybe more of a shastar vidya sort of style.

(Gatka would be more for the monks, oops!)

While all Draenei have some sort of connection to the light (based on their racial) being a paladin takes a lot more worship/servitude, and your character could be more self-interested or focused on martial prowess instead of harnessing magic.

I always liked the idea of a Draenei using brute strength to fight orcs. Beat them at their own game and all that.

Draenei are known to forsake the light everytime they visit Goldshire.

They could be akin to Anduin Lothar, like a knight.
