there’s fewer 2400+ players for 2s than 3s, according to wow leaderboard. why are people not playing 2s? don’t you get shorter queues playing 2s?
so heres my opinion. now ive only been 1470 rating this season so take it for whats it worth. i think people play 2s more during the day cause 3s are non existant. at night time 3s is more popular.
Most people focus on 3v3 and when they’re not playing they’ll mess around in 2s. Thats why there are less high rated 2s players. There’s just not many people that care about pushing 2s
2s is flooded with carries. All the good players tank to carry, and everyone else just won’t queue cause it’s not fun trying to gear up vs glads at 1500.
2s is a joke. 3s is only slightly less of a joke, but it’s the hive mind accepted pinnacle of “skill.”
In the past 2s and 5s were the “cap on reset day” bracket bc no rewards (5s had them for longer than 2s but yeah)
Also a lot of people CBA to try-hard for 2s rating when it doesnt matter at all.
2s is easier, as it requires less coordination and there’s less things going on.
You know there are website to show that isn’t the case.
@op - the average player is about 50-100 ratings higher in 3s then in 2s.
Here’s one of my alts. https://luduslabs.org/ladderdex/character/US/tichondrius/addroi
Rating is bout the same for both 2s and 3s, but look at my placement on the ladder. For the majority of players, 3s is a better outlet for getting rating then 2s. If you play warrior/healer, then it’s probably about even. The degree of difference between specs is much higher in 2s.
That said, if you’re aim is to get some rating for gear, then do RBGs. Any 1600-1800 player in arena can easily achieve 2100+ in RBGs.
What Amatox said. Only 2 people means less communication needed, less abilities to track, etc.
The question was to climb the ladder. Unless you’re playing a meta spec/comp, it’s not easier to climb in 2s versus 3s. While there can be less communication and less things to track in 2s, you also have a third person for kicks, cds, cc, etc. in 3s. Mistakes in 2s are more glaring, while in 3s, you have another person to cover for you.
While some aspects of 2s are easier, some are going to be harder.
More people = more things to look out for, more communication needed, more coordination needed, etc. 3s is objectively better.
Actually, I agree with your point here. It’s easier to get carried in 3s, definitely. But if you’re playing with someone of equal skill… 2s is objectively easier.
