Is it me or no ones talking about WoW as much

Whats stupid is thinking that there were no volume of games back then too. WoW isnt the only game back then.
WOW had competitions too and WOW beat them.

Why cant WOW beat these competitions now?

I never said there was no volume of games back then, I clearly said the volume, that volume which existed back then, has dramatically increased, which leads to a much larger competition.

Or are you to dumb to read?

Back when wow first started it wasn’t very common for people to be able to play a game online and chat. Yes, they did exist and wow was certainly not the first to do this but definitely the first to bring it into the more casual realm. Lots of MMOs prior to wow were very hardcore affairs.

Now online is literally everywhere and the novelty has worn off. Wow still does what it does well but the demand just isn’t near as high. So many more options out there today.

It sucks but it is what it is.

again, you assume that there were no games back then too. WOW isnt the only game back then. as is now.

THE DIFFERENCE is that WOW made those games unplayable. why cant WOW do that now?

Literally nobody is saying there were no games back then.

Because it already did and the idea isn’t special anymore.

It was new and exciting back then. Playing with strangers online was a novelty. It isn’t anymore.

In fact, it’s the opposite of novel. It’s stale.

All that being said… DF is fun, at least.

Here we gonna have a lesson that’ll let you, a being with some serious reading comprehension issues understand.

I have a bathtub, I plug it, and turn the water on. That water, is the games from 2004.

I pour the bubble bath mix in, and that bubble bath mix is wow.

As the tub fills up, the ratio of water to bubble mix dramatically increases.

Now the bubble bath mix is taking up a much smaller amount of the tub in comparison to the water.

Again, bubble mix is wow, water is the other games.

See, easy, simple, a toddler could understand this.

Because times change.

The people who were playing then have grown up with kids, spouses and jobs now. Chores, errands, vacations and real life commitments. A lot of people can’t dedicate the time it takes to play MMO’s anymore. They might be able to play a few hours a week. They may find it more rewarding to put those hours into different genres.

And the newest generation that’s gaming can’t keep their attention on something for longer than 10 minutes. That’s why FPS are still massive. You log in, spend 10-15 mins in a match and then you’re done. They simply don’t want to put the time and effort into an MMO.

That’s why WoW isn’t as big anymore. That’s why expansions are “Yay!.. who?”

Times change, people move on and new gamers don’t like grinding in a game for hours for a 3 item level upgrade to a single piece of gear.

Look, eating people is bad enough, but to target the ones who will leave behind orphans? That’s just sick.

To be fair though, Dragonflight’s announcement felt very… eh… lacking in meat and features. Its obviously a solid expansion but the Dragonflight announcement was extremely underwhelming compared to previous expansions and the major features they touted (even if said features ended up sucking)

When I saw shroud streaming CS2 it looked like the same game and I thought it was a joke. Is it not a joke?

Damn it’s real it looks really good.

I didn’t hear about countrstrike 2. Wtf? I am still playing the current global offensive.

I think I lost braincells reading this thread.

Don’t waste your time y’all.

Its fine. Someday we’ll get housing and people will stay subbed so they can keep their WoW homes. Or maybe blizzard could open up some novel game play like VR. I’d play it in VR, if there was official support. That AND housing? I’d be stuck forever.

Counter-Strike is easily one of the most elite competitive FPS scenes out there. It also has a massive history behind it.

WoW is awesome but Shadowlands really did the game dirty. Gonna be a while before they dig out of that hole. And sadly it might be never with other MMO’s reaching WoW’s level and then some.

Wow sucks dude. I AM KRUMTOILET!!!

It’s an FPS game that has it’s own following and probably has a bigger following.

CS2 is big, when WoW releases WoW 2, then you’ll see the chatter, but when it’s just another expansion… what hype is there to have

I wait with anticipation to have the time to 20 my D4 rogue to get my beta fomo back pack. IRL last beta weekend I could only get 19.

I may even stay up later friday to see this. that is 0100 my time if it goes off like scheduled. didn’t last week lol, maybe they do it this week.

then I take necromancer for a nice spin after.

I am more hyped for beta play with chars that I know will get wiped.

any wow time would be me going I am so close to honor cap on the last of my 80’s…wth, lets hammer out a few more classic wintergrasps. 75K honor banked for later is never a bad thing.
