My first couple delves since S2 have been on my Boom Drood, so I tried out Tank Brann. He seemed to be pretty squishy, but held agro pretty well. He just came VERY close to dying on the boss fight. And being a boomkin my heals were barely able to keep him alive on a T4.
In the process of doing a T7 on my lock, using the usual Healer Brann, and he has already died TWICE on the same delve. Maybe they buffed his damage or something, so that he is pulling aggro off my voidwalker more now. But he is taking a TON more damage. That almost never happened before. Not even when I was levelling him up.
Is this a S2 change? Because Iāve used him on every character but my holy priest and he almost never went down. And CERTAINLY not with my affliction lock, with a void-walker out.
No he definitely did it in S1, made Comet/Meteor pulls a hassle on mage when stuff would randomly go running off and heād do his pathetic little attempt to ākiteā.
It was inconsistent, certainly. And wouldnāt aggro the whole pack, just 1-2 mobs enough to split them up which is kinda worse.
I donāt know. Like I said, I had it happen for sure, on rare occasions. I ran T8 delves on almost every class. Mage, rogue, DK, Pally, Lock, Shaman, Spriest, Hpriest, hunter. None of them lost aggro to him this bad. The biggest problem I had was him cutting lose with AOE almost immediately after I pulled and breaking my CC.
I assumed his AOE-happy style was an attempt by the devs to be more mage/priest friendly and draw a couple mobs his way. It feels like they backed off on some of this damage mitigation, thinking that now that is Tank Brannās bag none of his other personas need it.
I havenāt tried healer Brann at all this season to really compare if itās worse somehow. Prob never will tbh, not running any pure dps classes past a D4 roflstomp.
It seems like the design intent is that YOU have to always be watching one healthbar, whether itās your own or his. Not allowed to have him take the heat off you. So itās weird that his abilities generate any threat at all, they should be zeroed out entirely for dps/healer Brann. Maybe they just wanted him to potentially take a little damage so he didnāt seem like such a passenger.
There is a point in which you can basically not rely on him at all.
I did Zekvir ?? last week and Brann stood in everything and died on every chance. Underpin ?? same deal, stands in bad and dies.
I did Zekvir ?? in October last year and it wasnāt like this so Iām wondering if they made him intentionally worse or something along those lines.
I just did Dread Pit on my shaman and Brann managed to get himself killed again during the boss fight. I was watching this time and it looked like he spent a good part of the fight standing right inside the circle of death Under-Lord VikāTis churns up when he dips underground. I donāt think he EVER did that before.
Itās almost like they WANT him to die, maybe so that people will try out Tank Brann. But his ability to dodge has been SEVERELY reduced.
I tried Tank Brann but it just wasnāt working for me; Healer was still better. He tends to pull aggro off of me and then dies quickly. On top of that he has a terrible habit of tagging mobs that Iāve CCād (sap or blind), proceeds to die and leaves me running away while wondering if he did it out of spite.
Iāve had a problem with this on my mages/rogues since day one. Brann IS pretty bad to cut lose with an AoE pretty quick. I can only assume he was designed this way in order to pull at least a little aggro.
Iām fine with that. It make sense. Even as annoying as it is that he breaks my CC. The problem is they seem to have nurfed his kiting so that he now seems to stand there and take hits he doesnāt need to, leading to him dying WAAAAY more. Not sure if this is intentional, or some bug added to his AI as part of the addition of Tank spec.
