Is it mana or mana?

Do you pronounce it man-a or mah-na?

I tend to use both in a totally arbitrary way. But I firmly believe that the proper way is mah-na.

Mah-na. Saying it like “maena” just reminds me of my old weeb days where I’d be triggered if someone said “Maenga” instead of “Mahnga”

Its mah-nah. Old word.

I pronounce it “man-a” in western RPGs because that’s the version I hear most here in the South, but in JRPGs and when talking to my friend named Mana, I automatically pronounce it “mah-na.”

Boils my blood like the old Shaman vs shayman debate. Even in wow they have said “shayman” a few times and I hate it. THERE IS NO Y!

But is it tear or tear?

Is it Dune or Dune?

Or when I found out in ff7 it’s pronounced “Mahko” and not “Maeko” for Mako.

Mahko sounds so weird after YEARS of my dumb butt saying Maeko

I say “man - uh”. I am sure it isn’t perfectly correct, but it gets the point across.

“mah - nuh” is probably closer to right?

Aluminum and aluminum

Aloo-min-um and Alu-min-yum

Is it throw, through,thorough,threw?

Neither. It’s mah-nay

The player characters, and Maut, pronounce it the first way.

Anyone who says it like this needs to be tagged and monitored by the fbi and cia.

Most of us Aussies say it this way tbh. or as we like to abbreviate literally everything: al-foil

I mean, you can just type /oom and hear how it’s pronounced.

Someone hit the nail on the head earlier: in western fantasy it is man-a and in eastern fantasy it is mah-nah.

To make(o) it worse, the shark is “maeko”.

see that’s probably where i got it from
