reddit and these forums are both gross. most people here are illogical blizzard can do no wrong bootlickers. add unarmored mounts no xrealm bgs no layering if you are pro any of these you are a fool.

I can’t tell the difference between the subreddit and this forum, in terms of poster behaviour and content.

Both hold the same likes and dislikes as a majority, both suffer from the occasional troll/bait thread/hostility. The Classic subreddit has more memes, that’s about it.

People will always try to find a way to start contention between two sites/communities/whatever.

It has definitely evolved that way, now that we’re so close to launch. It was not always so. The subreddit used to be a fairly small and niche place, largely frequented by private server vets. The signal to noise ratio has gotten seriously out of control there, though, because of the memes. The memes need to be spun off onto their own subreddit or something. Or not. I suspect that the mods of the sub have just given up and most of the substantial discussion takes place on the discord.

I definitely agree. Meme clutter flushes out the good discussions that sprout up from the subreddit - though there is still relevant discussion there, and from my experience it’s just as civil and valid as the discussions here.

If anything, bait-y threads like these just tarnish this forum’s reputation.

I lurk in the classic wow sub occasionally when the official forums are getting boring (usually once or twice during a work day) and there are aspects of the subreddit that I prefer. Easier sharing of memes, fun stories, some actual discussion that’s not the same 3 topics that get beaten to death here…you get the idea.

I just post a lot more here because I’m more familiar with the platform.

This forum is in general far more toxic, the classic sub reddit seems over all pretty happy with what’s happening with classic. And they don’t rant and whine about minor details.

Reddit is one of the only places in the world where people can be honest.

Just because you were downvoted doesn’t mean that the lesson was that you were wrong. You can learn about people.

This forum is the most disgustingly sanitized safe space I have ever seen in my life. If you want the real world then go on reddit.

I’ve been banned twice from there… the second time permanently. The first time I got banned was literally because a laughed off someone jokingly calling me a na-zi (they however didn’t get a ban for that), and the second time I was in a debate about moonkin dps and I had some rough words for someone who had been insulting me because I was pointing out that mathematically moonkin dps is super bad.

Pro-moonkin guys apparently get a pass there.

So may subreddits are run by virtue-signalers, it’s really hit and miss over there.

I mean, I agree to an extent. But it’s just like you’re calling the internet toxic because your generation isn’t as prevalent online with their jokes and “toxicness”
