At least on the stress test, launching Retail while being logged into Classic disconnects you from Retail, and vice versa.
I don’t know if this is intended but if it is please change it, I think a lot of us want to be able to switch between the two versions with just an Alt-Tab
If your definition of multiboxing is using two or more characters on two different games, then yeah I guess it is multiboxing, but I don’t think that’s what multiboxing is.
If Blizz required us to pay a separate sub for Classic, then maybe it would work, however since 1 sub to play them all is the current way they are going, you would actually need a 2nd account if you want to log into both retail and classic at the same time.
I can understand your reasoning for wanting to do so though and some confusion it could cause, this is very new territory for Blizz and for the community.
It’s been this way for 15 years. You CANNOT be logged into the same account twice without one getting disconnected when the second one comes online. You CAN have two iterations of the game running at the same time if you have two separate accounts; but that’s the ONLY way.
That’s EXACTLY what multi-boxing is. You have to have a separate account for each character you bring into the “box.” You CANNOT have two characters on the same account logged in at the same time.
It’s the same account that is SHARED by both Retail and Classic. At the login screen, you choose which game and (if you have more than one account) which account. You CANNOT login two different characters from the same account at the same time. It’s been this way for 15 years.
And they do NOT share a single account. They share the launcher, not your WoW account. I can have WoW up with one of my two accounts, and D3 which is NOT on my WoW account but is on “The Americas.” Retail and Classic not only share the launcher, they share your WoW account as well.
The do not share a single subscription though. WoW retail and classic share a subscription that allows you to play one character…if you want more than one pay for more than one.
if you pay for a single season ticket to baseball game it gets you one entrance for every game. Guess what your subscription is the same it gets you one entrance for every game but only one entrance at a time.
currently classic is actually chosen from the bnet launcher tab and not the login screen and use 2 separate clients, it’s pretty much an entirely different game, so i don’t know why it couldn’t be play simultaneously like hearthstone or other games
Where as you are too dull to understand that two different games are well different and so there really is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to play both.
If you were playing the same game at the same time you have an advantage so you are only allowed to play one character at a time with each subscription.
But you do not get any advantage from playing 2 separate games at the same time so not sure why this is not allowed.
He’s not trolling and neither am I, we just don’t agree with your arguments.
Just like you can play Heathstone and WoW simultaneously, you should be able to play Classic and Retail simultaneously, I understand they share the same WoW account but that’s just a technical reason, the logical reason is that you should be able to.
It looks like you really don’t want people to play both games simultaneously yourself tho for some reason.
