Is it expected for Mistweaver monk to have the lowest DPS by such a ridiculous margin?

I really love the punch things to heal my friends playstyle that monk brings. Like a lot. Even if it’s a bugged piece of “WHAT!?!?!” right now in beta. Oddly enough yes I am more attracted to this on monk more than disc priest.

But it’s DPS is pathetic compared to resto druid and ESPECIALLY paladin and disc priest. It’s DPS is ABYSMALLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Like BAD.

Is this actually expected? It’s literally a melee class and must handle melee mechanics while healing-- it should at least be on par with cat weaving.

ESPECIALLY when you consider that the monk has talents and legendaries that heal when they deal damage like rising mists and their teachings of the monastary legendary.

So is it really expected for monk to be this bad in DPS even though they literally have a build that focuses on DPSing hard as they can? It feels so ridiculous to me :confused:

For me to do decent dps with mistweaver I need at least more than 25% haste minimum, and I wouldn’t even dare think about this while leveling.

Well youre 92…numbers are whack at lower levels. At 120, its my druid that pulls garbage dps as a healer…where my monk and paladin are amazing (for healers). I honestly out dps priests too…oh and shaman are the absolute worst when it comes to dpsing as a healer.

DPS is not going to matter as much at the beginning of the expansion; plus, you haven’t deal with being a Holy Priest in M+ where Blizzard refuses to acknowledge our existence and only cares if they are performing middle of the pack in heroic raids.

I see Mistweaver looking as a strong healer to play in M+ and PvP and they are always going to be a very strong single target healers.

I am just sour that Blizzard really wants everyone that like healing M+ to play a Restoration Druid and every other healers spec needs to bow down to its greatness :unamused:

:smiley: :smiley: all this talk of healers dpsing has sent everyone into panic mode …If I healed I would concentrate on that instead of dpsing. The most I would do is use the odd interrupt but that’s IT

Well then you would spend a lot of time over healing or a lot of time doing nothing because the healing required is not very high.

They need to do a dps pass on all healer specs and healers that can dps and heal at the same time should obviously do less damage than healers who have to stop healing to focus on dps.

Mistweavers are capped in AOE too as of Shadowlands, we’re just a little more generous with a 6 target cap to SCK in contrast to your 3 target cap on CL.

But SCK also needs us to be in middle of mob pack that is SO much more dangerous :frowning:

But we also have better defensives than a resto shaman, so that’s our tradeoff. With fortifying brew baseline and the ability to talent either Diffuse Magic (60% magic damage reduction for 7 seconds) or Dampen Harm (Reduces damage of attacks you take by up to 50%, with higher damage attacks reduced for more), we’re much tankier than a resto shaman.

Your only making me mourn for MW as it originally was on release with true fistweaving back when it was fun… But we know the fun police and it’s cruelty to monks…shamans and anything with a flicker of soul to it…god I can’t belive I ever told myself id main monk permanently…oh I miss those sweet summer days.
