Is it ever too late to start M+?

I am very late to the crowd and my main hasn’t even reached 70 yet. If I start M+ Next month will it be too late for me at that point?
Everyone will outgear me and no one will invite me is my biggest worry.

No it’s not too late. There will be people who start next week who will outgear me in a few weeks.

There will be people who reroll their classes. There will be brand new players who might take a month to get to 70 (while levelling is easy, exploration and learning the game).

WQ and world gear is nice too.

I do recommend joining a few Epic BGs with the relatively cheap combatant gear. Let’s you compete decently and if you keep farming it you can get full 366.

What if I do a +5 and I get kicked out for messing up a mechanic?
I hate how M+ players expect you to know everything right off the bat.

nope. i always start a late toon(alt) towards the end of an xpack and i start from scratch without linking IOs … no problem.

Then the game has a big flaw and Blizzard needs to fix it.

That’s a risk that can happen, read up and do lower ones first. Read up on mythic mechanics and do a few 0’s

Limit your groups when starting out to “Chill”. These will typically be filled with people that are looking for a nice group that isn’t going to turn toxic at one messup. Then once you do a dungeon 1-2 times you should feel more confident in it to branch out to other groups.

Most people really aren’t bad. If it helps, the most toxic people I run into are usually pretty awful at their role

Make your own groups. I know everyone says that but it’s honestly the best thing to do.

Yup it’s too late. Going to have to wait for next season

Sarcasm btw lol

that’s why you make your own group with your own key and stuff.

It’s never too late. People gear alts up (I know I will be for enchanting), farm valor, or whatever motive they may have to do lower M+.

Also, creating your own group, as much as I hate hearing it, can get you going in M+ if you are patient. Odds are there are many other people who also are “late” (more like not early) to the party and would be happy to do lower keys with you.

Post groups called “mythic+ and chill”… or “mythic+ yolo”… or maybe “idgaf about timing and chill”

Bottom line, run your own key and control your own group.

While that can work as a DPS, it generally doesn’t go as well as if you are a tank or a healer as dps isn’t exactly in demand (with slight exception to classes that have access to heroism)

There will be people at every key level throughout the whole season.
Best thing to to progress is to do the dungeons that are part of the rotation on mythic 0 (and those that cannot, read up on guides/watch videos). Then start with 2’s. Once you’ve done them all on 2, do them all on 3 or 4 and so forth.

People are (or at least should) be forgiving of mistakes in low level keys, but in all fairness, m+ isn’t exactly the place to be learning. The expectation is that everyone in the group knows how the bosses and trash work and can perform.

Best of luck dorf

If you’re messing up the dungeon:

A. You still get loot if they go on without you
B. If they can’t go on without you, you’re unlikely to get kicked
C. If they themselves drop, move on to the next one

My recommendation is to start your own group and list it as completion/chill group.

Never too late, but its true that it becomes more of an uphill battle the later you get into any given patch’s endgame.

Never ever too late.

Some food for thought is to group up with people of similar score and ilvl. People who are higher are going to want a super smooth run, and are more likely to leave at the first sign of “trouble.”

Nah, itll be fine.

The tier catchup system doesnt even start until January…

Perfectly fine time to hop back into keys.

If you aren’t already 1250 no one will invite you to their keys. JK. It’s not that bad, but you’ll have to start with +2’s.

So what? What happens if you were DC’d, or the cat kicked the power cord?

Get back on the horse and try again. Most groups won’t kick you. In time you’ll get the mechanic. Heck there were mechanics I never learned in SL. “Oh that’s how it works” I was saying, what, in October.

When you join that next group, nobody knows you were kicked last time.

No big deal, try again.
