Is It Even Permanent?

I haven’t seen it stated anywhere whether the dungeon xp nerfs are going to be present on release or if this is just for beta. Just wondering if anyone has a definitive answer on this. Thanks.

With 9 million threads crying about how this will ruin the game…

What do you think?

I think nothing in a beta should be assumed to be meant for retail until declared as such. I haven’t seen anything definitively declaring as much, so I was just asking if it has been.

So again, since everyone else understood the patch notes and they are making a zillion threads about it…

What do you think?

I can read and comprehend the patch notes just fine. What I haven’t seen is anything definitively stating that this is the intended direction for the game come release. Mass shrieking in the forums about something that may or may not even be a change come release is not a declaration of the devs’ intent. That’s kind of my point in asking. Is everyone losing their minds over this for no reason?

I’m asking if there is a definitive on this because it could be happening for other reasons. Examples: Moving the player base out of dungeons for open world stress-testing purposes. Maintaining a more even spread of levels for testing purposes and minimization of “everyone is 30 now what?”.

Not trying to stir anything up with the question, I just wondered if someone could cite the declaration of intent or if this is all based on assumption at present.

And you wont Blizzard is pretty tight lipped on everything.

Fair enough, but I’m not asking for what they will or won’t say about it. More so what’s already been said via dev posts, podcasts, etc.

Blizzard doesn’t keep their promises; anything said in a vid, cast, or anything is usually incorrect and changed or walked back or never imposed. We are in the wait and see after money is collected phase. They are a business, as long as they get that initial burst of cash, then and only then can you unsub if you don’t like what they have done.

Really? Lol.
Look at
@AggrendWoW

on twitter, it’s designed to no longer be dungeon grind meta to 60.

I like the change to XP…

If you wanna get every blue you wanted from a dungeon then you can pause your leveling a bit. We’re not supposed to be twinked the whole time we’re leveling… I get the people crying because other people will want to skip things but that a community issue with people being to sweaty, the sky is falling attitude is getting ridiculous.

It feels great leveling on the beta at the moment doing some quest between dungeons pacing is on point.

Haven’t been on Twitter in ages, but if that’s an official account, that’s a useful answer to my question. Thanks.

The point of this whole forum is to provide Beta feedback. All we can do is provide feedback - pro or con - and hope the developers figure out what to do. We won’t know what they will do until they tell us - so far it appears they haven’t decided and thus haven’t told us. Until we know what the developers decide, it is in everybody’s best interest to provide feedback.

This is what he posted an hour ago on X:

"Reposting myself is kinda weird but one thing I did want to make sure I mentioned that did NOT get mentioned in the podcast is that we are also fixing a bug with XP in dungeons.

In previous beta builds, the XP earned per kill was awarded based on the highest level person in the group. If you are running, say, deadmines with 4 level 20s and 1 level 25, the amount of XP you get is extremely low per kill. With this fix, you should now receive XP based on your level relative to the mob as intended.

This, combined with the 20% increase to base kills in dungeons should make it feel better and more even.

XP gain is not going to be what it was in era, but it should feel significantly better now. We understand that some of you want to dungeon cleave to 60, but this is another one of those things that has to pass muster with our core pillars. That playstyle being the optimal way to level does not pass that muster and we need to hold firm on these balance adjustments.

As it stands now after the adjustments, with perfect xp/hr play, the leveling rates in dungeons will be very close, if not equal to the speed you can level with optimal questing play. That’s how much better it was to level in dungeons in Era.

Maintaining that balance is vital to our “World is the Main Character” and “Nurture and Protect Social Experiences” pillars together. Once the scales tip and dungeons become the clear winner, it has a cascading effect on player behavior and we have to consider that impact holistically."
