I wouldn’t think that this would be controversial but, i’d imagine to some people it is.

Not really as long as there’s a good spread of them for every level of play. Nothing wrong with picking up a World Cup [YEAR] mug to say you were there.
Most elitist players are just picky bastards who are looking to put down others to either a 1)get a carry from other players or 2) cover their own inadequacies or 3) both. Most of the time, it’s usually 3. That said… hell yes players who get hard content done need the respect they deserve. Nothing better than looking at an item and all your memories come flooding back to you.
The Elitist part manifests when you start demanding other forms of play can’t/shouldn’t be as rewarding as your form of play.

Yeah they should not get anything not even a leaderboard. Just a pat on the back and some loot and maybe a title.

Long as it doesn’t impede gear progression for everyone else, no. But unfortunately that’s a lot of what the mythic+/mythic raiding crowd try to do.
