I never see high level PvP hunters really or hear anyone recommend this class for arena AT ALL. The only tournament play is from jellybeanz who is usually benched or doesn’t have great results, and dillon who also doesn’t win tournaments or place top 3 usually.
Is this class a dead arena class? Or is it just the lack of proper play from the higher level hunters?
And was there ever an expansion where hunters were a top arena pick?
MoP was great for hunters competitively, Legion and WoD had their moments as well
But ya competitively hunters have been pretty weak but they’re still fine for ladder
Hunter would be really strong right now if RMX/Destros didn’t swarm the ladder.
Hunters are the “most” balanced spec in the game. 
There are negative effects to their abilities, high skill cap in CC, and lack of passive personal defenses to “win the game” for them.
If only every other dps was like Hunters, this game would be a lot more fun.
I always felt like Ret, Enhance, Ele, Fury, feral, and slightly arms always have been left behind in PvP because Monks, DK, and DH were “new classes” that were more up-to-date than those specs.
Mage/rogue was obviously built for pvp from the start so they have always felt more relevant. And locks… well locks are just SL/SL Tanks so they get a free pass.
If im not mistaken I think only one hunter has ever won blizzcon, and that was back in cata.
i personally think sv is sickening but yeah
I believe surv hunter is quite good but maybe that’s just bc they do good against rogue
Ehh technically two, if you want to count when Cdew lost to Boetar, as they played beastcleave, but I don’t think early legion BM hunter can even be considered hunter, they didn’t even have traps they literally just spammed damage lol
But Jellybeans has had 2-3 Blizzcon finals iirc as Hunter
They’re definitely fine in tournaments, just haven’t been good in tourneys all of BfA
