I just don’t see the worth of housing when we could have more 5 mans or more end game content. I’m just not sold at all on midnights new feature at all
If housing is awesome, then we will all benefit.
Yes. Having housing in MMOs makes the game larger, more social, and more awesome.
But why what does it do for active gameplay or end game
WoW is like the only MMO that doesn’t have housing lol.
Nothing.
Not everything has to increase player power, or be used as an avenue for such.
The vast majority of the game never raid, do Mythic or high level PvP.
Houses are likes pets.
If you don’t get the point, you’re not the target audience.
But casuals are going NUTS for this.
Eh and I prob won’t be able to avoid it
They have literally said “Whoever WANTS a house” gets one.
There is literally zero indication you will even be forced to initiate the house, unlike Garrisons that were part of the actual Campaign, and thus was unavoidable.
They have actually said “no player power”.
I don’t pet battle or collect pets seriously mounts yes. It’s a shame that this will impact m+ and raiding
Everything in the game isn’t for everyone some times. And that’s okay. The game has grown and will continue to grow and there will be aspects that won’t appeal to everyone.
Some things are out of reach for some folks for one reason or another (like pvp or mythic raiding if you aren’t the current Meta / Flavor of the Month) or due to time.
Housing is going to be awesome for a lot of folks and a nice relaxing way to interact with the game.
Yes. Housing has been one of the most-requested features since Vanilla. That portal behind that iron gate near the Trade District in Classic Stormwind was going to lead to a housing area, and since then we’ve been wanting it.
FFXIV did housing pretty well and that seems to be the route WoW is taking with it as well. I’m very excited for it, especially as someone who enjoys RP and chilling in my own private space.
Not every mmo doesn’t need housing like all shooters don’t need BRs.
I want housing, and I’m getting housing. That makes me, as a longtime player, very happy.
I can’t speak for Blizzard, but this isn’t normally how this works. They probably didn’t pull anyone from the M+ or raiding or PvP teams. It would normally impact the exact groups you wouldn’t care about, like whatever group handled pets or Nightmares or Duos or whatever cool content they want.
JUST A GUESS
But that’s normally how project management would work.
Course not. M+ or raid team would have zero idea how to make, for example, a dragon head be scalable.
I don’t care about housing personally but it’s been requested for a long time and the other “big” mmos (FFXIV, ESO, GW2) all have it so it was inevitable. I’m sure a good chunk of people are going to really enjoy it.
It’s on par with dumbing the game down with addon changes and obr
Yup it’s worth it!
I’m with you and there are a lot of people who feel the same…but it’s useless to complain about at this point and there are a lot of people who are looking forward to it so complaining doesn’t do anything besides irritate those people. I could go on endlessly on what makes housing different and not worth the resources, but that was a discussion to be had years ago…not when it has already been developed.
