So I took a long hiatus from WoW. I think the last time I played was back at the beginning of Shadowlands. I recently got the urge to come back and found my old realm pretty much empty. It’s not a big deal as there are plenty of other realms.
I’ve been checking out a few different realms for RP, reading their forums, rolling starter characters, etc. and I must say that I found myself constantly coming back to read the WrA forums. This place is full of information, clever, entertaining and not too serious. I find the lack of “duchy” guilds on WrA especially invigorating.
I had a favorite character on my old realm but I’m not sure when/if I will transfer him because I introduced a support character to his story. I think it will be cool to explore that support character’s story here then maybe add that other character later.
Anyways. I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m looking forward to the journey.

Hey there, welcome! My guild and me transferred and have been having a blast on WrA with Dragonflight. I too like the “everyman” approach WrA has to RP and it’s what led to us transferring here over MG. Though smaller, the walk-up RP Allianceside is very welcoming and easy to get into.
And yeah, our forums are extremely entertaining. I love the brand of humor, playfulness, and generally not taking things too seriously on these forums. When things do get serious, usually people find a way to hear each other out and get back on topic.
For my part, I’ve been enjoying new characters on WrA, with my veteran character from 2006 taking more of a support role. She has such a long-running story that I wanted to try fresh concepts with new folks, so I understand feelings around trying out new characters first.

I’ve been on WRA for ten years now and I, too, find the lack of “duchy” guilds a bit of a refreshing palate cleanser.
My own niche is Forsaken RP here, and although I’ve tried other races, I always seem to find the call of the grave irresistible. WRA has cultivated a nice undead community over the years, and I’m pretty confident that I’ll be sticking around here until this server shuts down. It’s just a nice place to be—not perfect by any means, but it’s home.
Once again I’m wishing I could post gifs, because right now I’m thinking of that scene from Blade Runner when Rutger Hauer holds up the fake eyeballs and says, ”We’re so happy you found us.”
But I’m all seriousness. We are. Welcome!

I’m very adaptive.
I view RP a lot like bumping into a stranger at the bookstore. A smile and a nod and a “Hey there. Great book. Have you read this one?” then see where the conversation goes from there.
I’m currently outlining my backstory and getting it ready for TRP.
