Or were your rose coloured glasses shattered when actually playing it? How does it compare to current Shammy
well considering how most people haven’t really got to level a whole lot, we haven’t really got to experience the full classic shaman experience. Personally I’m loving having to decide between spending mana on either a heal or damage.
The gameplay just feels more deliberate and calculated than the current /faceroll of retail.
yea i am having a blast and feel like a shaman once again.im 13 and speced in to enhancement droping strength of the earth totems and doing shocks feels like a real shaman.
also doing class quests to get totems felt great,
its great having a blast.
enh feels both like a battlemage and like an actual shaman, it’s not as good as say MoP shaman but its still fantastic. having shocks again feels so good
I love classic shammy, just a shame that their dps end-game is bottom tier
I only pve to get gear for pvp, at least while leveling.
As Enhance in vanilla, if i outplayed people, i had a good chance of winning the fight. If they outplayed me, they had a goid chance of winning.
Enhance has no hard counter, and with the tools provided, can pvp with the best of em!
Only level 8 right now, but i know what lies ahead and i cant wait!
Outplaying people will be harder since the average player is better than in vanilla. In classic you will find that you are kited alot more and drained of mana alot more.
On the otherside of the coin if the rng gods bless you, you just one shot someone so there is that.
I do miss the days of spam chain heal without the worry of going oom right away
Seriously? 2 handed enhance is back.
It will be the first nerf, but until then, HUZZAH!
I wasnt a pvp god back then, so im guessing that while other players skills have gone up, so has mine.
As for kiting, LoS is your friend. If a caster starts teeing off on me, theres no rule that i have to charge him from 30 yards away.
And yes, 2h windfury is really nice when it procs, but if youre not using a 1h and shield vs warrior or rogue, i think youre doing it wrong.
but the windfuries will fly and one shot cloithies so its worth.
I’m staying away this week but I reserved my name on a couple servers for my Shammy and will start playing Classic a bit fairly soon. The only thing that’s dampening my excitement is that I know 2 handed Shaman is going to be utterly destroyed again.
I’m just looking forward to being a support class and not having to worry about topping meters.
I’ll leave that nonsense to the rogues, hunters, and warlocks.
Its not again. The game is literally picking up after the nerf every fanboi that is drooling over vanilla shaman is raving about. So this mystical delusional notion of playing that version of enhance will continue to be both mystical and delusional.
Yes you will be able to play 2h enhance.
Yes the stars will align every 5-25 min and everything will proc and you will see a really big number.
No you will not be one shotting anything that isnt practically naked and 10 levels lower than you.
However the complexity of the shaman class is light years ahead of the current playstyle. I have a lvl 17 shammy and the depth and complexity is completely satisfying.
Just downloaded a shaman totem timer to include totem weaver.
Honestly I hated legions changes to Enh, but playing classic made me remember why I hated it so much.
Shamans play NOTHING like they used to, MoP/cats was probably the best version but now currently you are just a magic warrior.
Having support abilities feels so nice. Being able to off heal, buff, and do damage when needed are all the things I miss. Not just a damage class
This is something that I’d love to see again in retail, though likely not eventuate.
Just throw away the idea of balance, and return hybrid and utility.
Though sadly, this may not be compatible with the current player’s mindset topping dps meters, MDI and Fotm.
Just drop the whole spec system, and return to a class that shares it’s basic gameplay and utility within all it’s options.
There’s no reason they can’t bring back diversification to the Shaman class. As things are now each spec is more 1 dimensional than its ever been. Bringing back more totem utility and not making skills and abilities spec only would be a huge QOL improvement.
What they did to shaman would be like making druids only able to shift in and out of a single form based on spec. Come on now Blizzard
Agreed, It’s nice dieing to pleb mobs in a game when you get stupid or cheeky. I died to a strider outside x-roads cuz i was saying dumb stuff in Barrens Chat about Mankriks wife and not paying attention. Death deserved, contract complete!
It feels like I’m playing a shaman. Unlike retail. Which feels like I’m playing my paladin, or does my paladin feel like I’m playing my shaman, or is it that all classes feel the same in retail…
Who would of thought they had the “class fantasy” right back in vanilla and have steadily been working away from it.
i’ve been leveling a shaman on the rp server. i have 2 120 shaman on live. it’s really fun so far. i plan to play ele not enh though. and maybe resto when i get max level. though it depends on what i wanna do. i decided to level everything on him though cooking/first aid/lw/skinningl etc. i have more spells at this point than silver to buy them with. lol.
