Is Fury good in 8.1?

I was wondering if there’s anyone out there who knows how Fury’s been doing in comparison to Arms on the PTR? I think one of the major balance issues was just how much better the Arms Azerite Traits were compared to those of the Fury, and I’m hoping that’s fixed.

I’m honestly just tired of playing Arms. Crit smash is fun and all but I want my speedy Fury to be good again ;(

Fury is okay, and arms is alright. I’ve seen a lot of prot warriors lately. I faced off on one a few days ago with my Rogue, he rekt because he kept self-healing, but I think that one of the best things to do is to go arms, and remain that way. I play my Warrior as arms, and I’m not going to change it unless I’m doing some PVE content in which I hop on and do fury.

As for the PTR, anything is really subject to change-but i wouldn’t know, I haven’t test it out…

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks for the info!

Honestly, I guess the best thing we can do is wait. BoD may have Azerite Traits that favors certain specs that we aren’t really aware about, and with that 5th Azerite gear ring coming into play, you just can’t be sure tbh. Guess I can always reforge and compare on patch day though haha

No.

That is not accurate.

So play fury. It’s good.

  1. If you don’t have any helpful info I’m not sure why you’re posting
  2. Concerning the Azerite weights, I am accurate. The Azerite weights in 8.0 right now are literally skewed in Arms’ favor much more than in Fury’s favor. You can see this by getting the AzeritePowerWeights addon.
  3. Fury warrior is the #17 in the DPS charts. Arms is #10. DPS difference is a hell of a lot.

[Edit to make #2 a bit more clear in the beginning]

I’ve been playing Fury all expansion, and can say without a doubt that it’s just as good as Arms currently. I’ve been actively swapping between the two, comparing damage and what not, and both are equal with different strengths and weaknesses. The only thing holding you back from playing Fury is yourself.

Since fury and arms have the same secondary stat priorities, you luckily have no need to change gear. I equipped my 2 370 maces from Heroic Taloc (I’ve been grinding out a 2nd one just to try fury) and I reforged to fury traits. I had trouble staying over 10k whereas in arms I could keep 13-14k going for well over 3 minutes. In general, the strengths of arms right now just outweigh those of fury, sadly.

I do. You’re incorrect.

How does an addon giving a score to traits have any bearing on their strength? Fury and arms traits aren’t wildly different in power. The difference in power is from fight mechanics.

What? Looking where. Because this isn’t a thing.

No they don’t?

So you’re bad at fury? Did that not cross your mind?

If you wan’t Fury to do bad, you’re going to do bad while playing it. Play what you want, and play what is fun. But, if balance is what you’re concerned about, there’s nothing wrong with either.

Fury is fine. It’s not super great like DH or whatever but it’s definitely not the worst of the worst horrible.

And it’s pretty successful in PvP.

For the first time in the history of this game I greatly enjoy both specs.

Guess the OP just gave up. That was boring and stupid.
