Someone mentioned in an interview that they’re interested in looking at stuff like 2H choice. If bet my money on it not happening tho.

Nothing is known.
Only things related are that they’ve said 2h Frost is something they “would like to do”, but they also there’s going to be no major overhauls in Shadowlands.
Just in case you’re worried, there’s virtually no chance that Frost will ever have DW removed. Only thing that might happen is a sub-spec for 2h.

They just say stuff like that to get peoples hopes up so they purchase (or sadly, pre-order) shadowlands.
Then 3 months into 9.1 when people start asking what happened to 2H frost, blizz will say something like “after internal discussion we have decided not to come through on previous promises”

And that’s a shame too, DW should have never been part of the Death Knight toolset from the beginning. It’s absolutely NOT class Fantasy for a Death Knight at all…it was just an idea that one Dev had back in the day and now we are stuck playing with Toothpicks.

It is class fantasy when it has been in the game since the introduction of DKs. You may not like it but it is certainly part of the “class fantasy” for Frost.
I guess all of the threads people have been making for months haven’t amounted to anything except wasted effort. Saw that coming.

It would cost the small world of warcraft dev studio too much to add something back into the game. They have a very low budget at the moment.

No… it’s Definitely not class Fantasy for the majority of us. It was a (bad) idea forced upon us since the beginning and now we are stuck with it. That’s what it is…
Now with that being said… If a Snowflake Toothpick Warrior is your class Fantasy then by all means knock yourself out… but for the rest of us, it doesn’t exactly spell “DEATHKNIGHT” / powerful Juggernaut…

Then the death knight to you is something that it wasnt when it was first released. It was a fast paced powerhouse now this slow clunky whatever you want to call it that we have had in recent expansions going back to at least WoD when the real slow down to the class as a whole really started.
I would also say if people arent playing frost just because of a weapon visual, getting the weapon back probably isnt going to make you play it. It would really just be a visual if they lifted weapon restrictions and a nerf.
I think people should be able to nerf themselves if they want too, but if there are going to be complaints about how DW is ahead then you are just trading one complaint for another and at that point why waste your time?

I initially thought, could be wrong, that dw was for tanking back in wrath because it was for parry or something. I vaguely remember you could tank as frost dk in wrath…like you turn on the tank stance for dk, blood presence?
In Wrath, you could tank or DPS in any spec, either 2h or DW; your ability to do so depended on your talent build rather than what kind of weapon you used.

What Sariel said. I 2H frost tanked all through wrath because I didn’t want to deal with the parry haste trap that came with DW.

yea i dont think they care to change the loot table to add 2hd frost i would just expect buffs.
Their teaser in-game trailers clearly showed a DW Frost DK, so unless they change it we’re staying DW. Rip.
……Hey now. I would like to see those that want it, get their 2 handers back, but frost has ALWAYS been able to dual wield.
Let’s not go removing ICONIC features from any class, but I do wish you luck with your 2 hander quest.
