Right now they have it balanced where they want it to be, low floor high ceiling which is the problem itself. Make it full Frost damage and you bring the floor up messing with the balance of the ability so a nerf would happen.
People were saying the same thing you are about KM making Obliterate frost damage and now we see low non-crit Obliterates are.
Obliterate was designed to be Physical damage. The mastery of the spec is lazy and boring and it makes people want everything to be increased by it. DnD to be shadowfrost, abom, Obliterate to be entirely frost damage and no one thinks about the consequences and then when the inevitable nerf hits people say “they hate DKs”.
It’s not like they’re gonna change anything regardless. Breath is meta in pve for years, even tho most people hate it.
Chill streak is required in pvp, even tho a ton of people hate it. Me included, cause imo it makes frost damage gimmicky AF.
Frost is legit just a budget sub rogue lol. You got goes every 45seconds, but if you’re chill streak doesn’t get god bounces then your damage is dog still.
Edit: It honestly bums me out cause I love frost dks. They look cool and I love their abilities. They just suck to play lol. Wrath dk is so much more satisfying. Your oblites actually hit hard

I agree, but since all of those specs DO have MS, I think frost should too. Why should both warrior DPS specs have a mortal strike, but only one DK DPS spec have a healing absorb?
Frost needs something to make it viable at high rating… UH has more pressure, heals during the damage rotation and can do damage while kiting. Frost only has damage during pillar then it falls flat on its face. The death strike nerfs really crippled frost as it was literally our only way of having any chance against a melee dps.
The devs only seem to pay attention to UH in PvP unfortunately…
