There’s a few things that need to be addressed that we agree on as a community I think. So far Blizz has done a really good job with Mage, DK, Hunter. Can we polish up Evoker a bit?

Mastery, the fixes earlier in DF have been more bandaid, I think everyone would be happy if the mastery is changed or improved on. The only interaction with it is Dragonrage and I think thats too narrow. I think Essence Burst proc should also benefit from mastery, or maybe 5 sec after an Empower spell get have mastery apply at 100%, some more interaction would be cool.

Deep Breath.
Maneuverability feels like QOL talent, not a capstone for hero talents. It has no connection to mass disintegrate, most hero talent trees have the first and last talent have a connection. The Scalecommander capstone has 0 connection with the rest of the tree. Make it baseline and give us something else.

Too many talent points for Hover to function properly prune please.
-
Awkward placements of talents, like Power Swell, Pyre, Innate Magic, Recall,
-
Useless talents, as in, pick them or not, you can hardly notice: Innate Magic, Power swell, Exuberance, Walloping Blow,
-
3 talents to make Dragonrage a worthwhile CD, like wut?

Left side of the Dev tree, just needs more, its semi AoE side, but its just trash. Please make it to where red spells matter more. Make it to where Pyre can be picked over disintegrate if talented right, like refreshing Fire Breath, or giving a debuff that buffs Living Flame, or Pyre procs Burnout, Pyre Creates a Firestorm.

A bit more depth in rotation would be nice. Animosity change doesnt seem to have been welcomed.

Severe limitation in Capstone talent choices for Dev. Way more for Preservation, Aug also struggles with that as well.

Having your empowered spells always use 100% of mastery would be cool.
I wish I could come up with ideas for what a good mastery would be, I suspect they aren’t going to move away from the giantkiller idea (more damage at higher health) but the problem is no solution I have seen has been that great.
The more I think about it, I personally think mastery is in a fine place right now.
I feel that a lot of casters tend to be mastery heavy (could very well be anecdotal or recency bias), which leaves us in a position right now where our mastery is still strong enough that it isn’t bad by any means, but it makes it far easier to gear with our current stat prio imo.
I wouldn’t mind it having an hourglass shape where we do more damage at high AND low health instead of how it is now, simply because it feels bad to have less value in prog on bosses that have priority on execute phase burn (which they almost always do).

Great thoughts on it…I could go with that.
Oooh yeah, this is a cool idea. Maybe the damage could be weighted with different causes too. Like, when used on enemies under 20%, azure strike always triggers essence burst.
I’d also be up for mastery being like a stacking debuff that triggers from pyre or devastation ticks. Each tick melts the enemy’s armor (and face), increasing the damage they take from essence spenders by a % based on mastery, up to say 20 stacks.
I like this idea a lot and if they lean into the hourglass theme it’s very bronze feeling.
Not directly, no. But it does have an synergy with Melt Armor (along with a few other class talents) due to Manuverability giving you the ability to cancel deep breath early. Thats not explained in the tooltip and it very much should be. Because of the melt armor synergy, that would be the damage amp connection for mass disintegrate.
It should just apply Bombardments at a lower duration instead of the dot imo.
Only thing that would be broken is how much CDR it would get with 1 min deep breath lol.
But I wanna swoop in and see a ton of dragonbois driveby. Capstone becomes a crescendo of the core mechanic of the tree like most other hero specs
