Now with the shaman melee nerf , I’m wondering if using my boost for n a ele shaman but do you see shamans doing good or are they squishy in the long run ! Also do ele shamans have great visuals ?? I was thinking of maining bm but I feel hunter bm will be below ele shaman any thoughts ?? Thank you.
Extremely unlikely
Hulk, Sadd now!
Don’t listen to him he is a wotlk fun he doesn’t know anything
Its still extremely unlikely elemental will be a top damage spec. Its just a squishy target. Even if damage itself is solid, its best defensives arent on par with other spec options
It’s prob 2-3rd tankiest ranged in the game right now warlocks being number one then it’s an argument. Considering you have every totem/ defensive in the book from tremor/stoneskin to gust of wind/ spirit shell etc…
Damage wise we’ll see. Sham has a a ton of build diversity but I would say kind of mid to A tier which is good because you get nerfed less.
Right this very moment, in pve, it’s very sub par dmg wise. At 262 ilvl I still can do better than my 266ilvl spriest.
For wpvp, ele really never has been a beast. It has always been a support style. When left alone it can shell out some nasty dmg. Just know, you WILL die. It is no hunter that can turtle shell, leap backwards and sprint away then stealth. But like I said, they can still pump scary dmg quick, so you’ll still see them on wizard cleave teams in arena even comparatively high.
Their surv is meh, but imho I’m no arena gladiator, but I play boomy, mage and spriest…when their surv cds are down, you die fast too so lol… my op, learn how do deal with bad situations and try to survive then burst.
For visuals, shaman are king. I don’t think any class in the game come close.
What you mean you have constant -20% DMG just put root totem hide behind pillar and heal. Redo
And what happens when you run into a tram with an offensive dispel?
Ghost wolf has no cooldown and costs minimal mana. If it is dispelled you just recast it…dispels have cooldown timers and are not cheap. They will go oom much faster than you.
Furthermore, ele can afford to take the cast certain abilities in ghost wolf which is massive (enh can’t really take it because it shares with self healing boost).
So now, not only are you in 20% Dr, you also can’t be slowed past 100% and can offensive dispel and cast all your totems ( depending which you have includes: sprint, root, slow, trap, grounding, fear break, stun, mana regen, hp regen, etc.)
Purge doesnt have a cd. Its not cheap but if you are relying on gwolf to survive, youre not gonna get value out of it when you need to.
During a GO it will be dispelled.
If they are spam purging your ghost wolf instead of trying to get you back in range, they will oom.
But sham match ups are largely whoever understands the toolkit better.
Theres more than shaman that can offensively dispel. Its not going to be taken.
Purge is the only one with no cooldown I believe? I thought priest has a cooldown. I know spellsteal definitely does. Demon hunter has a cooldown, so does fel hunter, and arcane torrent.
Edit: Priest doesn’t. And 20% DR will certainly be taken.
Mass dispel has a cd im almost positive regular priest dispel does not.
Spellsteal also fully cleans the target. So. Ghostwolf talent kinda usless as a defensice when 1 button press removes your 20% reduction
Yeah I just look at mage again, spellsteal no cooldown in DF but 21% mana cost. My ghost wolf isn’t showing a mana cost currently (not sure if this is a bug?) but if that’s the case, this seems a fair trade for 1/5th of the mage’s mana that you can just reclick for free.
Every time a shaman with gwolf gets cheap shotted the mage will press spell steal and remove the damage reduc. You might see benefit from it outside of the go’s but no chance you will get any value when it matters.
Yeah, that is definitely a situation where it will happen but hey, that’s one gcd wasted not on dmg from the mage.
As it currently stands anyway, you require thunderstorm or peels to deal with cheap shot whether you are in 20% Dr or not.
