Yes, it is allowed, without any kind of click automation. If youâre strictly alt-tabbing it, youâre fine.
Unless youâre a bot-farm in a certain part of the world, running 100s of bots, then automation is fine and you will never face any real consequences.

As stated above, itâs fine so long as you arenât key mirroring. Even using hardware. For instance, if you press w, and more than 1 toon moves, youâre key mirroring and thatâs against the tos. Basically, itâs not humanly possible to multibox in any form of combat while remaining within the scope of the tos.
You donât have to alt+tab to multibox, just FYI. Set all of your game windows to âwindowed modeâ and you can either use a different monitor for each, or resize them to fit multiple in a single monitor. Doing so allows you to just move your mouse to whichever game instance/window you need.
Alt+tabbing is just really inefficient and slows you down.
Dual-boxing has never not been allowed, you just canât mirror or automate anything between the accounts that isnât allowed within the game itself.
If you press a key, only ONE character can do something based on that key press.
Eh, I dual box all the time including dungeons with healer and tank, itâs not that hard. Youâre not actually alt-tabbing, you just have two clients open on two monitors, and you mouse between them with independent key presses. I do it in hardcore too. PVE is totally fine, particularly since with GCD you have 1.5s to use the other character, and/or during 2-3s cast times or weapon swings. Its mostly PVP that isnât doable because it requires too much movement and micromanagement. Most people donât really think about it but thereâs a lot of time on a warrior, for instance, where youâre just autoing anyway and you can fill those gaps with managing a second character. Also, given how rage works you can just accumulate rage autoing for a few seconds while managing the healer, then dump when you âtabâ back.
Actually I would say its better in many cases than having a pug healer, because most healers suck and donât know when to drink or how to use mana efficiently, and you know exactly when you can pull if you control the healer and mana supply also. It makes it very easy to set up groups also since you are playing both of the in-demand roles.

As usual this problem was already solved by private server players (7 years ago). Kronos had the same rule that no key cloning was allowed, so I created this video as proof that I was complying with the rules. At one point a GM did ban me, then I showed them the video and was unbanned.
I did the same 5 man setup again in 2019 Classic, with the only loss being HealBot addon, requiring me to manually cast heals⊠just another +1 to the âinhumanâ difficulty of it XD
But seriously this isnât that hard. If you can play StarCraft, you can do this.

Yeah, it feels a lot like playing an RTS where youâre often managing your harassment units, economy, main army, etc. at the same time and youâre rapidly switching your view between them to give quick commands. It takes higher APM than a WoW player is typically used to.
What if im using something like razer synapse to make alt tab macros? is that considered 3rd party?
itâs allowed.
