In terms of everything with Dire Maul gold farming. It basically is as it was back in 1.12. Lashers were a farming method, but they got nerfed in Vanilla towards the end of its life because the farming method was too good. Mobs have higher aggro ranges than you would see on private servers. And obviously spell batching and the location heartbeat mechanic have there effects on some of these.
Aside the fact lashers had been nerfed back in Vanilla, all methods of farming can be done with a bit more challenge involved. I watched a streamer named Grizzled do a tribute run within 22 to 25 minutes. He even said he could very likely make it faster with quite a few factors put into place.

I don’t know, that’s a close call. Uploaded in September, but no indication as to when it was recorded. 1.12 dropped in August. But anyway, people are apparently still doing this today?
That was definitely vanilla.
And his method was terrible
This video proves the current thing we are seeing is not a nerf and was on vanilla, note the speed the king moves during this.
This is a very specific kite with FD and a parked pet and looks like it could easily be done wrong or fail. 1 Resist and you probably die.
Also, this hunter is full BWL geared and this is WAY harder to do than anything that was being done on private servers.

It was not “easily done in vanilla” Ive been on this board since beta trying to tell people this. For some reason people have confused it being POSSIBLE to solo tribute, with doing tribute 5 times per hour for 100 GPH like on nerfed private servers.
And that was literally never ever true. Go watch that ONE video of Hunter vs the World or whatever from Vanilla and notice the time skips and methods used to solo tribute. Notice how the full run isn’t shown because it took much longer, and note the strategy.
You were NOT ABLE to just roflstomp solo Tributes solo as a hunter in 12 minutes on retail back in the day.
Its soloable, but it will always take so much time that simply farming elsewhere is better gold per hour.

You may be right I can’t say one way or another.
The only thing I am doubtful of is if they changed the aggro radius of the mobs in North? If memory serves it seems that was massively increased.
Well guys here is an update. It can be done! Just did it but took me about 40 minutes. Might be able to get it down to 20 after some practice. You cant kite the king and have to ping him and cho rush between you and your pet with feign death.
