Is dispelling World Buffs now bannable?

I’m just here for the lulz

Well deserved ban

If this is indeed true, that GM should be fired. I don’t care about people dispelling, it’s PvP in my opinion. But nobody should get special treatment in this game.

100% agree, the streamer absolutely got special treatment, which is ridiculous.

Yup! Just for clicking a button! Big mistake on his part for making it a point to dispell and hinder someone else’s fun. Maybe people will think twice before going to BRM or BVP just to grief and dispell now

it is not pvp when a lvl 20 priest sits in BB and dispels you. Its griefing and you cant fight back. When somebody actually tries to fight you and kill you there are a number of counters. There is no counter to being dispeled

There are plenty of counters including Invis Pots, having plenty of junk buffs, using a different route, having unbuffed friends killing dispellers etc.

Hindering other people’s fun is the whole point of a PvP server. And people who roll on one consented to the fact that other’s will ruin their own fun too.

This isn’t okay. Wether hes a streamer or not. Dispelling is part of pvp servers, if you dislike this mechanic so much there is a pve alternative.

This guy isn’t even a big streamer, are people who play classes like shamans and priests now supposed to know every streamer or just not use said abilities because it might get em banned? (or locks with felhunters i guess)

This GM needs to be fired. The assumption he only dispelled him because he was a streamer is laughable. It might have been a kill on sight alert due to a previous encounter.

Ppl crying about their wbuffs: Do not play on a pvp server then.

I can say the same for people who get world buffs and log out for days at a time because they gotta Reeeee parse. Dude enjoys pvping on a pvp server. Maybe you should reroll to a pve server ??

Well according to the GMs dispelling can be considered griefing. Because most of the time they are just trolls that are griefing. So they deserve the ban

Sure there is. Dispel only removes the most recent buff. Just buffer your important buffs with garbage buffs that you can replace as quickly as they are dispelled. You have a global cooldown worth of time.

but okay your right about the counters I’m always using scrolls and spells just incase. Best move is to just get a lvl 20 summoning team to summon you behind ubrs portal

What GMs? Gotta source to cite? Got a blue post saying dispelling is griefing?

They’re allowed to be trolls on PvP servers. That is the whole point of a PvP server. Being banned for doing exactly what is allowed is silly.

Did you actually watch the video this thread is about? The dude gets dispelled and the gm immediately wants the guys name who did it

Then he gets banned. Id say that’s clear enough

Yeah, that is not okay. That is the whole point. He got WRONGFULLY banned because the GM was a bro of the streamer. This was a personal favor, not a GM following guidelines.

Something tells me that if all the priests multiboxed 5 mages instead to instantly kill you after they rez you’d still find something to complain about it even though it’s PvP by your definition.

It’s a pvp server, you can kill people with buffs and corpse camp them and that wouldn’t be considered griefing. GMs are are also known for not knowing what they are doing about a lot of the time, they are just regular people some of them you wonder if they even play the game.

Surprised a GM would do this.

At any other job if you were giving preferential treatment to a customer and not following company guidelines, you’d be asked to leave.

blizzard ultimately decides what is a bannable offense. The dispeller put himself on blast. The streamer should not have got special treatment but once the GM looked at his account it was over. The guy who got banned frequently griefs people

If the GM was just helping a friend he should be reprimanded

I love WBs. But by being on a PvP server you opted into the risks that comes with them. This streamer is soft.
