Dispelled Player: Dear Diary, someone is playing the game the way he wants to play. This makes me very angry that I am at the will of another player in a video game. I’m going to write to the GMs about how there are no carebears in the game and will force carebears to be added.
Kind of concerning seeing others come forward with their own GM abusive action story. As I recall in the past, ganking/camping/griefing was allowed back then. I remember I was camping someone in particular in STV many years ago, and a GM had whispered me to please stop killing the guy and of course I obliged. I never got a warning or suspension just a gm wanting to chat. Now it seems GMs are banning people for PVP on a PVP server?
Pretty much this here… people complain about PvP on PvP servers constantly, yet try to convince themselves that it is still somehow better. If you do not like to PvP, go play on Normal, that is literally what they are there for.
Stuff like this is why war mode exists in retail.
Blizz was right when they said “You think you do, but you don’t”. It was a dumb reason to not bring back classic but the statement is correct. Retail is the way it is for a reason.
To be fair:
The GM was clearly out of line here. I don’t know what kind of action they took against him, but I think it’s safe to say that he won’t be banning PvPers for PvPing anymore.
cough pve realm
What’s bad?!?!
COMMAND ABUSE!!
Can’t wait to res dispell by naxx portal when it comes out! Going to be tons of fun!
And retail is bleeding out, so “mission accomplished” I guess?
Blizzard fired a GM for banning a griefer. This is the most Blizzard thing I’ve ever seen. And they wonder why their playerbase is so toxic.
How can this be argued to be in Blizzard’s best interests? Dispelling buffs on a player that you’re trying to kill is standard practice. If you don’t want to PvP, then don’t roll on a PvP server.
You could also argue that if he wasn’t a streamer, he would never have made friends with a GM.
Even so, the privilege came from the GM, not the streamer. From Blizzard’s point of view, you’re correct that there was no streamer privilege. As far as the GM is concerned, though, special privileges were certainly granted. Thankfully Blizzard made it right in the end.
The fact that it is an issue that is only possible to happen on a very specific type of server kind of explains the entire issue.
Work better as a guild and clear the opposing faction out on your way to the raid next time instead of running past or getting summoned into a bunch of people you know are waiting to dispel you. Fix your PvP problem with PvP.
I have never had my world buffs dispelled. I play on a PvE server. There is no issue when it is PvP happening on a PvP server. Work better as a guild/faction.
With all the shenanigans that have happened the last few days on Earthfury, I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a dispel army waiting in the wings. I don’t expect to make it into a raid with world buffs for a very long time. If ever.
Apparently one of the GMs got caught abusing his powers to help a streamer. We already know Blizzard is corrupt to the core; so who is surprised? The problem for Blizzard is that they prefer to keep their despicable abuses discrete, not have them publicly seen. Btw, dispelling enemy players is not grieving. Roll PVE if you don’t want anyone to do that to you.
Oh I didn’t know that was a thing, ty so much.
