Is dispelling World Buffs now bannable?

because the guy I am replying to made the claim that it wasn’t stream sniping as “evidence” that it was OK, so I explained how it was stream sniping and he continues to bury his head in the sand and act like it wasnt, you can go back to my post and read how I broke it down if you want.

Did you see a ban happen? I didn’t see that either. I also didn’t see the dispel. I only saw a streamer make some claims, and appear to speak to a GM who was in his stream chat.

I dunno, if this guy was actually a GM though then we are in a territory that is akin to some of the shadiest PServers. And if they do the little warnings here and there for some small time streamer, what else are they doing? The things we do not see.

Some guy in here said they fix loot tables for streamers. Now I am not saying they do, although the 3 legendaries dropping in one run seems awfully convenient. Im just pointing out, if they do small favors like they did for this streamer, what else do they do? What we might not even see. Hence why Blizz hopefully looks into this and acts with an iron fist if there is a truth to it.

Sounds like you don’t like the idea of PvP on a PvP server then /shrug.

This is exactly what the streamer should have done instead of trying to get someone playing the game 100% legit banned.

You should check out the pic of his discord statement that just got posted on the classic wow reddit, the streamer is clearly full of him or herself.

Yep. I’d like to see this develop more and to see what is accountable. I’ll definitely be staying tuned.

A GDKP had both bindings drop on an OCE realm and was auctioned for 110k. It’s not impossible.

Nice explanation.

Anyway, this whole thread is just drama.

As said, Im not saying they do. Just saying its awfully convenient. If it happened to some random guild on some xzy server, id be more inclined to see no foul play than if it happens to one of the biggest wow classic streamers out there.

Apparently GMs are streamer fanboys too.

Forum pvp is still the best pvp in this game though

Look dude, maybe he was being stream sniped, but maybe he wasn’t.

I’ve watched Swifty on stream and sometimes he’s obviously getting stream sniped. Ex. He’s out.on the middle of no where…and suddenly another super geared player.on the opposing faction makes a B line to him with a crew of people that just dumpster and camp him.

That’s probably a stream sniped.

I’ve also watched Swifty be in a battleground and say something akin to ‘This guy on the other team is stream sniping me in the BG!’

I’m like…

Really dude? Your in a damn BG. You just assaulted a Horde base in Arathi Basin…what did you think was going to happen? You had 2 bases and your contesting a third base. Tons of people Zerg/dont play defense in AB so I’m not surprised he was at that team fight…most of the people in the game were.

‘He targeted me cause Im a streamer!’

No way!?!? Tell me more my dude.
You got clapped/are getting extra attention when you put yourself on display and stream/play the game for a living?

Who do you think people are going to target/notice more in a team fight?

Rathia the random mage nobody gives a damn about or OMGITSSWIFTY?

Lol

It doesn’t matter. He pays his monthly sub just like everyone else and can play however he likes . . . just like the rogues on every PvP server that camp Redridge.

If dispelling buffs is bannable then Blizzard needs to come out and say so. Otherwise this GM should be shown the door.

And as someone else pointed out, imagine banning bots as soon as they were reported.

Farming gold and instance resetting was not against ToS or anything else yet bliz put a stop to it because too many players were crying like babies about the economy which just equated to jealousy that others had more than them. So rules change all the time based on who gets upset about it and who they bring that grievance to.

I think it’s a better claim towards loot seeding than anything.

Here you go:

Of course you are! You can go after a particular person or guild or w/e for ANY reason. That’s what KOS lists are. Streamers aren’t special snowflakes with privileges that the rest of the unwashed masses don’t have access to. Or at least they shouldn’t be.

That attitude right there accounts for most of the streamer hate you see. People are sick of it.

Who cares if he decided to find a streamer and dispel him on a pvp server?

There are benefits to streaming (free gold, items, notoriety, real money), and there are costs. Showing a hostile faction your exact location is a cost. Blizzard should not be selectively intervening when players are doing completely normal pvp activities.

Every major guild’s raid times are known to an entire server. Making a macro to target a known person in a known guild who raids at a known time isn’t “stream sniping”…it could be “sniping a streamer” but those two things are NOT the same.

And even if they WERE stream sniping, ultimately that is 100% fine since its the streamers free choice to give would-be enemies his location for free. So the point is ultimately moot.

You have to actively be using the information from the player’s stream to gain an unfair advantage over them. If they’re literally not even showing themselves on their stream it would be impossible to “stream snipe” them.

Oh and for anyone still defending the GM and streamer this is straight out of the ToS for WoW.

" The Game Master staff will not intervene in Player versus Player (PvP) disputes"

Do people read anymore? I literally said this and people keep responding acting like I care if it is a streamer?
