i’ve been playing destro warlock for a while, and yeah, dimensional rift isn’t the best pick right now, but a i love this ability, the concept it’s so cool and the visuals are fire.
The thing is, Dimension ripper, this talent supposedly makes that incinerate has a chance to tear open a dimensional rift, or recharge it. But after playing for like, a month, I’m almost sure that it’s not working properly. It does give you charges (it’s rare as f but it does), but it haven’t open a single rift, like not even ONCE.
Since almost nobody plays dimensional rift, i think the devs aren’t even aware about this.
Dead talent.
In fact, right side of tree is unappealing even after the buffs for AoE situations.
It is indeed working correctly.
Unfortuantely, it’s so bad that it’s just nearly never worth it to take. Rift as a talent is a decent flex option in all of our single target builds on the other hand.
Related, but not publishing the actual proc chance of this talent is a crime, and the only thing I can think of is that blizzard is intentionally hiding how bad the talent is in order to get people to diversify their builds and try new things out – it frankly wastes the time and effort of warlock players to find out proc rates.

Its working. If you have dimensional rift, it will only ever give you back a charge. If you dont have rift, it has a small chance of opening one.
You dont get both
That “small chance” for me means seeing it once. Some, never.
I tinkered around with it yesterday… it just doesn’t do enough to justify its existence.
I did find the proc rate was pretty decent, however - it just has no illumination or anything, y’know, that would let you know you gained a charge… so you have no idea it actually procs unless you look at the number of charges itself.
