Is Deterrence working

Ever since the last patch, my deterrence has blocked exactly zero hits. Has anyone else noticed it is not working?

Yes.

On your lock? Somehow, I am not impressed.

I’m impressed by your retail shaman.

Notice lvl 90 and panda hat and you are saying retail?.. Master Yoda, the stupid is strong in this one.

I am pretty sure you have not tried to deterrence on a hunter recently, and are instead just commenting to comment.

At least I play Classic.

Deterrence increases dodge and parry, both of which only work if you’re being attacked from the front. And it’s +25% which means approximately every 4th melee attack. You will never block.

Archdruid,

I understand why you are being so literal, but I really did not mean block, and in shield block or damage reduction. The major point being is that it used to allow me to go toe to toe with warriors for a little while before the patch, now, I have never dodged or parried with it up. Not once.

The first game it happened, I thought bad luck. But after a week or more of it, not once, causing a dodge or parry something is up. I tested against rogues, druids, warriors and enhance shaman. Not a single time has it worked.

Again, before it improved my survivability in a noticeable way. Now, not at all.

Before you ask, yes, I parsed the combat logs too.

Notice how you’re the only person in the world complaining about this? The problem isn’t the ability.

I macro aspect of monkey to deterrence and it gives me a total of 75% avoidance between the dodge + parry. So on average 1/4th of all attacks will still hit. Make sure to keep enemies in front of you and trinket any stuns. RNG is what it is though so sometimes it doesn’t seem to have much effect and sometimes you feel invincible.
