Kind of confused here is it mmorpg similar to WoW or just strictly an fps
It’s a multi-player first person shooter with character progression as far as gear goes. There are dungeons and raids. There is a storyline and in depth lore. Quests for gear acquisition.
I don’t think it is an MMORPG though. A lot of the aspects that might be related to MMORPG’s are largely ignorable if you’re just in it for the gameplay.

WoW is an MMO and a FPS if you zoom into first person camera mode. 
They are more mmo lite.
Less players needed to do dungeons/raiding. They call it different names. Played destiny 1 they have fun loot and gunplay. Decent abilities. The ultimates can be fun to coordinate.
Also shooting and aim come into play with encounters. Light level also is basically ilvl.
